hotrodholty Posted November 30, 2007 Report Posted November 30, 2007 im thinking of getting some parts chromed, manifold, 1/4 bumpers ect. is there anywhere in the north west that does it? also any idea what kind of price as iv heard rumours of it being about £5.00 a square inch which on a manifold would be over £100
Messenjah Posted November 30, 2007 Report Posted November 30, 2007 chrome plating a manifold would be expensive an di doubt it would last too long with all the heating and cooling i reckon it could creack for the manifold what you want is the ceramachrome coating camcoat do it and im sure ive seen people on this site reccomending them heres a link to their prices http://www.camcoat.u-net.com/Exhtprices2002.htm

Admin Vista Posted November 30, 2007 Admin Report Posted November 30, 2007 Definitely cermakrome for the manifold, remember bike exhausts get a lot more cooling than car ones. Cermakrome greatly reduces under bonnet temperatures too Here's a pic of my cermakromed manifold for an idea of what they come back like. It was expensive though, including carriage this was £226 As to the 1/4 bumpers, are you aware you can get repro polished stainless ones for under £100? They look as good as the originals and it's a lot cheaper than a rechrome. HArrington have a shop on ebay but I can't find it just now.
