The mk2's were a bit flabby, but the mk1's and mk3's were pretty lightweight. I test drove a Mk3 when they first came out and my first thought was Go-kart!
Rick Posted December 20, 2007 Author Report Posted December 20, 2007 probably the slow one it looked nice though
bigglesmk2 Posted December 20, 2007 Report Posted December 20, 2007 I've had two mk2 Mr2's.First was a 2.0l the next was a 2.0l turbo,both went like stink.I know someone who drove a mk3 and they said that just stunk

The mk2's I've driven were terrible, quick in a straight line granted but awful handling, the early mk2 being especially bad. The mk3 however while down on power is very lightweight and much like a go-kart to drive so a lot more fun.
Stu_B Posted December 20, 2007 Report Posted December 20, 2007 I've matched one at about 100mph for miles on the A303, when we got to a hill it was smokin' a lot & I cruised on & left him in my rear view..... oh I forgot to mention I was in a 1.4 rover
