d8vyr Posted January 9, 2008 Report Posted January 9, 2008 in a few weeks time i will be getting a flip for my car from fibresports, does anyone know of any cheap couriors that would carry this bulky item up to glasgow or near cheers davy
4parajon Posted January 9, 2008 Report Posted January 9, 2008 Most of the carriers charge by weight, so I would'nt have thought it would be a huge amount, can't your supplier sort it out for you and you just pay for it. Just make sure its been wrapped up securely as they got tossed about a lot in the back of the wagons, things can get dropped on them etc, see if they will add some "fragile" labelled tape to it. TNT would charge me about £10 for it by the way.
d8vyr Posted January 9, 2008 Author Report Posted January 9, 2008 hi 4parajon , fek me m8 i wish it was only a £10 nobody will take them because of the size of it, most couriors only want something that will fit on a pallet. 1 so far is looking at puting it in with another delivery for £300 and even then its only going to blackpool looks like i will be driving down myself with a trailer!! cheers davy
4parajon Posted January 9, 2008 Report Posted January 9, 2008 Thinking about it some more, maybe I'm mistaken with the £10 quote,it might be slightly more, but I sent my complete cossie engine on a pallet from Manchester to Kent and it was £26 on TNT for next day delivery.
Rick Posted January 9, 2008 Report Posted January 9, 2008 courier costs are bonkers unless your a registerd business with them collect it yourself dude
Cookie Posted January 9, 2008 Report Posted January 9, 2008 courier costs are bonkers unless your a registerd business with them collect it yourself dude Yea, just done a quote with tnt cos parcel to go are doing my head in for a 20 kg box measuring 40cm x 40 cm x 30 cm, prices ranges from £68 to £138!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 Erm yea I'll pass on that thank you!!!!!!!!
hotrodholty Posted January 9, 2008 Report Posted January 9, 2008 where about i the country is fibersports mate? there is a slim chance i can help
Rick Posted January 9, 2008 Report Posted January 9, 2008 i had a quote for sum fibreglass arches to germany and it came up with figures starting from about 400 quid if i was gonna pay that id have put them in my suitcase and took a holiday while i was at it
d8vyr Posted January 9, 2008 Author Report Posted January 9, 2008 what i have been told is because it will not fit on a pallet, they either will not take it or they want a fortune to deliver it and even then they will not guarantee it will not get damaged. think the other guys are right...lot cheaper collecting it myself from them.....it`s not that far from glasgow to southend on sea????lol cheers davy
