Mr Sam Posted January 13, 2008 Report Posted January 13, 2008 Didnt doc have an rst engine in his 100e it was just an XR lump he never got round to sticking an RST in it, was FWD anyway
FlashCadillac Posted January 13, 2008 Author Report Posted January 13, 2008 you'd get two of um in a capri bay. the turbo seems to stick out a long way out of the back on the engine Or do i sense a ZVH build?? maaaaaybe its on order... i just hope if fookin fits
FlashCadillac Posted January 13, 2008 Author Report Posted January 13, 2008 i want dimention B... not too woried about A
FlashCadillac Posted January 13, 2008 Author Report Posted January 13, 2008 no... the big black pipe that looks to be going towards the rad goes down to the top of the turbo... the exhaust then come out of this and will have to nose dive straight away to stand any chance of getting under my bulkhead
Mr Sam Posted January 13, 2008 Report Posted January 13, 2008 silly question is the black pipe not going to an intercooler?
mk1mexico Posted January 13, 2008 Report Posted January 13, 2008 No the big black pipe goes from the throttle body to the intercooler. Look here the turbo sweeps forward on the fiesta engine. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/rs-turbo-engine_W ... dZViewItem
FlashCadillac Posted January 13, 2008 Author Report Posted January 13, 2008 liiiiiiiike so... but i need a more side on view to get a better perspective of how far it sticks out
FlashCadillac Posted January 13, 2008 Author Report Posted January 13, 2008 mk1mexico thats a fiesta engine... they go a different way...
FlashCadillac Posted January 13, 2008 Author Report Posted January 13, 2008 silly question is the black pipe not going to an intercooler? looks like it... shows what i know.... im just paying for it
mk1mexico Posted January 13, 2008 Report Posted January 13, 2008 Good old google images i got the same pic
mk1mexico Posted January 13, 2008 Report Posted January 13, 2008 Bear in mind that turbo looks a hell of a lot bigger than a standard one
Mr Sam Posted January 13, 2008 Report Posted January 13, 2008 i thought the fiestas were EFi that looks MFi i bet this is doing your head in now
mk1mexico Posted January 13, 2008 Report Posted January 13, 2008 mk1mexico thats a fiesta engine... they go a different way... Soooo get a fiesta RST manifold and job sorted
FlashCadillac Posted January 13, 2008 Author Report Posted January 13, 2008 thinking about it.... the guy who is building them usually builds them for a fiesta... so the tubo might be the fiesta way.... got im getting fed up of trying to work this out.... i dont know what bits he's using
FlashCadillac Posted January 13, 2008 Author Report Posted January 13, 2008 on that pic on the ebay link.... where does the turbo connect round to the intake side?
Mr Sam Posted January 13, 2008 Report Posted January 13, 2008 deffinetly an escort and deffinetly going to an intercooler IMO
FlashCadillac Posted January 13, 2008 Author Report Posted January 13, 2008 Air filter / fuel metering head not a clue this is why i asked for pics
FlashCadillac Posted January 13, 2008 Author Report Posted January 13, 2008 its the plumbing of the turbo to the intake the confuses me.... ill just wait untill its built and have a look then.... or go talk to the guy down my street who has an rs turbo.... but i think its fake and probably isnt a turbo do all turbo engines have dump valves??? its not going to be hissing every time i change gear is it??
bomber1 Posted January 14, 2008 Report Posted January 14, 2008 think this is a good idea for cheap power imo. a stock 4/5speed box will bolt straight in for rwd conversion. tho u may need a coil pack system from an rs1600i or another way of moving the dizzy. or move the engine forward to clear dizzy and turbo
BIG G Posted January 14, 2008 Report Posted January 14, 2008 The fiesta engine and fuel system would be better as its electronic as in the pics the engines with the red pipes to the injectors is a mechanical system and lives in the escorts.
