Is anyone watching "Traffic Cops" on BBC1 now?

Absolutely disgusting behaviour by the Officers that pulled the Type R over. The young chap had EVERY right to be pissed off IMO, as the way they pulled him over, and tried to yank him out the car was just plain wrong.

Also, a lot of the other coppers in this program are plainly up their own arse, with cocky attitudes.

No wonder why people have no respect for the police anymore.

:roll::roll::roll:

WTF the 18 year old with the wrong numberplates.....fined £30

and those pikeys with the cable PMSL!!!

oh and ride of the valkeeries as they let that traffic go, most fitting

doesnt matter how old he is mate :?

he could have been in a Ferrari and it wouldnt be any different.

This is how i saw it:

Car came up as having no I.D

They instructed him do pull over, which he did so, straight away.

Bloke was already out the car, and copper thought he had the right to drag the young chap out.

Blokes pissed off that the copper is pulling him all over the place and gives them a telling off. (which imo was spot on).

Its not like he tried to drive off after it was pulled over, and they have later pulled him over.

but as the cop said they were on the hard shoulder of a busy motorway, if the cop just walked over and acted all namby pamby the kid could of pushed him into the traffic or pulling something, if it was thought to be stolen they couldnt take any risks

Good on the lad for standing his ground but he wasnt very polite, and you do have to see it from the coppers point of view.

All the info he has is that the lads just done a runner from a petty station and the car may be stolen. He was just trying to get the lad into a position which he felt safe. If the lad had any sense he wouldve done exactly as asked. He knew he wasnt in the wrong (to a degree) so he shoyuldnt have acted up. If the police then manhandled him he could ask for an apology or even report them, afterall, its on film.

He was obviously a spoilt brat though and i think he should give that car to me :D

Oh, an i reckon the G on his shirt stood for gay.

would it have made you happier if the spotty lairy

twat pushed the copper under a car ???? i mean

come on he was stopped a week before for the plates

+ was clearly taking the piss! + done a runner from

the petrol stn knowing there was no comebacks..

+ i say good on the coppers for not kicking shite

out of him, coz thats what he needed :evil::evil:

but there is a way of pulling someone over, and checking before acting! What happened to innocent until proven guilty?

i bet if the bloke was 30 odd, you wouldnt be saying "cocky" shit then would you? Age has FOOK all to do with it. So what if he has a type r? i had my 25k miler, 3dr cos @ 20, does that make me a prick??? :?

Also, from my understanding, the Bloke left his card at the petrol station did he not? and even the copper said he hadnt stolen the fuel. Maybe im wrong.

its mainly the kids attitude that stunk, all that muttering under his breath, swearign and backchat, fooking hell if knew he was inoocent he could of kept quiet. let them explain there point of view then he could of explained his, but he kept jumping in talking over them

Posted

yeah it did, but the the coppers job is to serve the public, and be polite in his duties. BUT, the way he reacted, and started calling him "little boy", was an utter disgrace and unprofessional. If someone like that can get to him, he's in the wrong job!

I saw this myself and IMO it was "6 of one half a dozen of the other".

Both the copper and the lad had shitty attitudes, some people just rub each other up the wrong way dont they.

The lad did leave his particulars at the petrol station.

He did pull over as soon as the police put the lights on, in fact he did everything right untill he opened his mouth

The officer that got a grip of him had only been in traffic for a short time, think he lacked experience to be honest

I also think that if the lad had kept his mouth shut and just told the officers everything that had recently happened, then he would'nt have gotten a ticket, IMO the officer gave him the ticket because thats the only way he could get back at the lad with the camera's on him.

agreed he was a cocky little shite but the coppers behaviour was outrageous, if he had made comments directed towards his sex, race or sexuality etc rather than his age I imagine he would be facing disciplinary proceedings – no different in my eyes. The officer was clearly acting immaturely and not used to handling situations of that nature and to be honest it was him who needed to do the growing up. Irrespective of what ever offences he suspected he had/has committed there was no excuse for the officer to behave like that.

see how good old health and safety got in the way again when trying to get to the farm house the fire enginge had the height and the balls to drive straight up to the front door but because of h and s the were restricted on what they could do :lol:

I find some of your comments on this interesting, so lets look at the facts.

!. The car was reported as having just commited a criminal offence (theft of petrol)

2. After a check on the number plate, there is no record of the vehicle on the DVLA database.

Those 2 things say to me that there is more then enough to put suspicion in my mind that either the vehicle is stolen and on false plates OR the driver is up to no good.

The vehicle is then stopped on the hard shoulder and the driver is dragged from his car. Absoloutly no problem with doing what he has done, if that lad wanted to then he could push him into a live lane and kill him, just cause he was being polite and not grabbing hold of him.

The lad should think himself lucky that there wasn't 2 or 3 more Volvo's about otherwise he would find himself being taken off the road  in a TPAC manouvere.

At the end of the day the driver was in the wrong and the traffic cop dealt with him extremely fairly. You CANNOT give out a Vehicle Defect Rectification Notice for a No Plate as it does not fall under the realms of Construction and Use offences so the notice that he had been given, had een given out incorrectly. The ONLY way it can be dealt with is by way of a fixed penalty. Now if the lad had been smart and kept his gob shut then he wouldn't have got it, but he tried to be cocky and talked his way into a ticket.

What could have happened was that the driver and his mate could have been nicked on suspicion of theft, taken to the station and sat in the cells for a bit whilst the cops go and speak to the garage to see why a call had been made to the police reporting the fact that, that vehcle had driven off without paying. Why would that call had been made if there had been some sort of agreement about payment beforehand???

Sorry mate but you are way off, that lad summed up for me how this country is going, no respect for someone in authority.

agree with your comments 100% the lad was in the wrong and the respect for authority is somehwhat lacking in some areas of society. However comments like "you need to grow up laddie" or what ever it was are not very professional by his own admission. My point was that if the officer had said something like "you need to grow up girlie" or some other comment relating to race, sex etc rather than age would (and should) have him reporomanded irrespective of what ever offence(s) the person had committed. You must admit though to be given a notice for false plates was wrong which wasnt the drivers fault no matter why they were false/incorrect in the first place. Makes viewers wonder what the point of ever registering a vehicle is if this is all you are charged with for commiting a reasonably serious offence.

What does annoy me, and this prob skews my view of modern policing in this country, is that when you report a vehicle stolen or damaged (which I have) and informed who had stolen it (which I did) and call them whilst watching the thieves drive your vehicle round the block with the names and addresses of the thieves (which i also did) they dont want to know. It just seems that criminals (like the lad in question) seem to avoid any serious consequences whilst law abiding citizens get seeminly little help. I'd have been happier if they had arrested him and impounded his car ti be honest!

I can't really comment on your situation but yep that does sound fooked up. I think the cop had the hump in the end coz the lad had an attitude. It was fair for him to be treated like he was in the beginning, going on the info they had, however an apology from both sides could have maybe calmed things down a notch or two. But that kinda of shot himself in the foot by being so arrogant, that my opioion anyway

i think that the youth wanted confrontation. why didnt he get his plates sorted out after he was pulled over the first time?

cos he had 14 days to get it done :D and we all know what a pain in the @rse it is to get plates made legallly now, ofcourse you can always buy all the gear quite legally and make up your own (another well thought out piece of legislation).

he was clearly in the wrong as as daggle says an apology from both sides wouldnt have gone a miss but apologies are only made by the police when ppl get shot in underground stations and other such serious happenings, but lets not go into that one!

Dont get me wrong im all for the cops to be a bit more heavy handed but they have to lead by example and he shouldnt have risen to the jibes from the lad who clearly knew exactly how to wind the copper up.

Posted

i agree that he shouldnt off lowered himself to the same level as the youth, he was write to be heavy handed at first in my opion to get himself away from the danger of the traffic when first getting the youth out of the car.

on the issue of number plates, you can get them made up within minutes and fitted. Halfrauds do them and most parts traders like midland car parts ect. yeah he did have 14 days but if i was told that my plates were wrong i wouldnt wait till the last day to get them sorted as i wouldnt want the hassle of being pulled, over and over again.

it is one of them subjects that is always going to get people sticking up for the lad on some parts and the police on others :D

you need the log book to get plates made up now (legally) and if he had just bought the car from a garage and sent the logbook off to the DVLA i guess this could be a bit tricky! not sure of the bit of the V5 you keep while its being re-registered can be used or not for this.
