how acceptable is this, ill just whack some filler in the wing....it fell out :lol:

 

but the floor WILL need welding wont it?

as much as i want to try and get something a little newer its not going to take to much effort to get the old girl through another one, just these bits the exhaust and a rear brake as far as im aware

does that include the very bottom of the brake pedal :lol:

 

might be best to weld it incase, see this time last year the hole was allready there :oops:

 

i couldnt weld though so patched it with fiberglass and filler :oops::oops:

yeah thats what i did, undersealed that corner :oops:

 

and my tester has a little metal hammer :sad:

 

still he is good and helps best he can tells me exactly what needs doing and a rough discription of how todo it

I know the within 30cm rule, but were cars unsafe before it came out? No. I actually think it's within 30cm of a load bearing point, so if that was the inner wing with a shock absorber I would be more concerned if it was my car, but if that was my wing I would shove some filler in it.

 

The floor would be best welded though.

i 30 cm from any steering, braking or suspension MOUNTING and on the wing as long as there is no sharp edges then it sould pass (hense mondeos with grey jaffer tape on bumpers etc :thumbsup: btw sam the more metal thats missing the lighter the car :ykt:

just got a full exhaust £17.50 inc VAT :mrgreen::mrgreen:

you can weld, it wont take half hour to weld them up you can tidy them up any day

just plate the floor 10 min job and if you hold somthing behind the wing and filler it as its a jagged edge so could fail for that :thumbsup:

like the scruched up newspaper that had been in there for about a year :lol:

 

 

gonna try speand this weekend on the car, although im going to look at another mk1........well 3 actually :shock::D
