bmxdave Posted February 10, 2008 Report Posted February 10, 2008 Im still unsure as to which wheels to put on my car. Ill probably go cosmics or dunlops. Ive been toying with a few ideas though. What do you reckon to these wheels on this car? And does anyone fancy photoshopping them on for us? Im just a bit curious as to what theyd look like.
285Andy Posted February 10, 2008 Report Posted February 10, 2008 sorry to say but those two sets there, i cant see either looking that good on your car? the rims are too flat faced. your car would look far better off going with a wheel with a depth to the rim. just my opinion though! but its your car all said and done id deffo be interested to see what aphotoshop job would look like though what are the cosmic and dunlops like??
Guest MK1gaz Posted February 10, 2008 Report Posted February 10, 2008 Nooooooooooooooooo , don't do it
martymk1 Posted February 10, 2008 Report Posted February 10, 2008 as he said it don't do it, go for lotus's steels
bmxdave Posted February 10, 2008 Author Report Posted February 10, 2008 I cant really afford Lotus Steels, and theyre hard to come by. These wheels are fwd offset so that i can go 6" without rubbing on arches so thats why they look flat faced. As i said, im not planning to do it but i am curious.

bmxdave Posted February 10, 2008 Author Report Posted February 10, 2008 I could only band them a half inch with a standard offset. And gaining a half inch isnt really worth it. I dont want to be doing any bodywork so i have to go inwards instead. I could probably band inwards an inch.
Guest MK1gaz Posted February 10, 2008 Report Posted February 10, 2008 your steel wheels look nicer than those new ones anyway
surfingturnip Posted February 10, 2008 Report Posted February 10, 2008 oldskool and cool http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/4-WELLER-WHEELS-f ... dZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/RETRO-INTRA-BBS-S ... dZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Ford-Mustang-Falc ... dZViewItem
bmxdave Posted February 10, 2008 Author Report Posted February 10, 2008 However cool they look, theyre still too wide. I cant fit 6" with a rwd offset. Ive tried my minilites and it just wont have it. Thats why i need fwd offset or a set of 5.5" wheels like D1's.

bmxdave Posted February 10, 2008 Author Report Posted February 10, 2008 Its not the lip. Its right up in the wheel arch. Only way to stop it is by cutting the arch out like the fronts or flaring them. Which i dont want to do.
Nettles Posted February 11, 2008 Report Posted February 11, 2008 How about some old skool Wolfrace or Cobra slot mags? They are available in 13”x5.5” and they would deffo give your OSF that classic performance look. You can usually pick them up cheap from ebay. Polished or painted they do look the nuts on 100E’s.
bomber1 Posted February 11, 2008 Report Posted February 11, 2008 nooooooooooo keep ur steels have u tried a ste of mk2mex/capri 5.5js on the rear will always look better than them allys
MK2Ed Posted February 11, 2008 Report Posted February 11, 2008 Good idea from Nettles... What about Revolutions...
MattD_Capri Posted February 11, 2008 Report Posted February 11, 2008 Yeah agree a igot revos on mine the satin black 4 spokes. Dont go for what you looking at modern wheesl are a no no IMO.
