GTechR Posted November 7, 2006 Report Posted November 7, 2006 There is a company called Shiney bits, based in mansfield, they do a good job... The web site is http://www.shinybits.co.uk although it dosn't look like they've updated it latley
4parajon Posted November 7, 2006 Report Posted November 7, 2006 What exactly are you after mate?? Is it something thats rotten and needs replicating or what??? The reason I'm asking is I can do one for you but as I don't get asked for manifolds often I will need something to copy. Cost wise, providing you make a donation to the site and pay for the carriage and material used I'm happy. Oh, just so you know I have a tube bending company and can bend from wire up to 2.5 St St. Let me know if I can be of help to you.

Wessie Posted November 7, 2006 Author Report Posted November 7, 2006 ok heres the tricky bit its of my i4 lump so originally it was a cast one i need one making up to fit my car but someone really needs to have a look at it and take there own measurements if you know what i mean . its quite a difficult piece to make as theres a few things it has to go round but i still want maximum performance from it (where possible)

Pinto J Posted November 7, 2006 Report Posted November 7, 2006 Ashley have their faults, but i wouldnt dismiss them out of hand. Just remember that the most important tools for fitting them are a hammer and a crowbar, as their spacings can be a little....creative. On the plus side, they are very reasonable - and the ones ive used (sierra, Fiesta MkI and Cortina MkV) have all served me well. Spencer Ashley (MPC) is also an extremely affable chap and willing to help. Theres also a I4 manifold developed already, sorted out by the FSOC..and although its for a sierra, im sure it can be adapted quite easily
Fiesta Steve Posted November 7, 2006 Report Posted November 7, 2006 and they made mine too. +17 bhp & 12 lb/ft torque ON TOP of ashley crap. What engine you running mate.. Was looking to get an ashley fanny-mould for a 1600, but after you've said that.. How much was yours Ste? What he said! I'm in the market for a new system and was going for ashley. I'm running a 1700 x-flow in an XR2. To be fair to Ashley exhausts I can't really comment on how good there Escort manifolds are. They are probably more developed than the Fiesta pipes as I'm sure there is more demand. My problem I had with the Ashley manifold was that it just didn't fit and didn't give me any horsepower. The bolt holes didn't line up with the head and all needed redrilling to get the bolts in. It ran so close to the sump that there wasn't enough room to get a clamp on so needed more modifing. The welds protruded into the pipes and I spent an hour or so with the die grinder cleaning them up. It also came with a flush cut pipe to join up to my system, which meant I had to weld a flange on the end to fit the system I already had. The small primary pipes were made even smaller with the use of a cheap pipe bender that compresses the pipe on the bends, so the 1 1/4" pipes are reduced to about 1", not good for horsepower. But.. it was only £60, as with everything you get what you pay for. The PowerSpeed Manifold was £250. It may seem like a lot but I gained 17 bhp over the ashly manifold (tested back to back on the same rollers) I'm sure you'll agree thats cheap horsepower. That was built to exactly my specification and I got exactly what I wanted and that was fully fitted, built to fit my car. www.powerspeed.co.uk tell um Fiesta Steve sent ya
