antz Posted February 11, 2008 Report Posted February 11, 2008 ok people to cut a long story short.... theres a guy in my area who deals in classic cars at stupidly high prices and he has 3 garages. 1 is his delaership where he keeps the cream of the crop for sale and his auto museum. 1 is his storage where he keeps all the shit (except a mint mk1 cortina estate! ) and the final one is in a village right out the way which is just another old ealership with the white shit on the windows to keep people out and its used for storage i think. for years there have been 4 cars outside. a jag, triumph, rover and a hillman. all absolutely rotten and beyond saving....so far gone. BUT in the last few weeks since i last went past this has appeared! Its a 2.0 GL AUTOMATIC. the DVLA says it was last taxed in may 1997. it has one crusty arch, scratch/dent on rear quarter and just a bit unloved. whats it worth cos im tempted to see how much he wants!.....(probably a lot...its such a shame cos i have a feeling itll go the way of the other 4 cars there)
bomber1 Posted February 11, 2008 Report Posted February 11, 2008 only worth a couple off hundred tops imo
antz Posted February 11, 2008 Author Report Posted February 11, 2008 only worth a couple off hundred tops imo in other words this guy will want over £1k he has a very very scabby mk5 cortina for sale for £995. its ludicrus!...he would rather watch a car rot than sell it cos he is a rich fecker. i just dont wanna see another mk2 capri rot away
escortmad79 Posted February 11, 2008 Report Posted February 11, 2008 That poor Triumph 2000 Estate next to it, don't know why but I have a soft spot for them.
antz Posted February 11, 2008 Author Report Posted February 11, 2008 That poor Triumph 2000 Estate next to it, don't know why but I have a soft spot for them. rotten as a pear the worst by far is a daimler XJS....completely rotten. got a dirty great V8 in it but the body is past it....and i fear the mk2 capper may end up the same way!
antz Posted February 11, 2008 Author Report Posted February 11, 2008 its a damn shame. this guy is a nut job i swear. he has a mk2 zepher for sale. £995 and its ROTTEN!. same as the mk5 cortina. he has a mk1 cortina round the back....ROTTEN!. countless cars at the back of his yard, at the back of his other yard and in this old dealership all in storage or...you guessed it....ROTTEN! Ive seen inside his storage dealership and some of the stuff is amazing. a old mercedes on the ramps....obviously he started to do the brakes in 2003 and one day upped and moved to his new premises and this merc still sits 6ft off the ground on the ramps....waiting its fate. i dont wanna see the capri go the same way
