with a seat where you cant touch the windscreen cos of a feckin huge dash, rubber dashboards and doorcards, not vinyl or even plastic anymore, a light that tells you when you havent got your seatbelt on, your running low on fuel, your brake pads need changing, you need a shit, your car is due for a service, and when you do the service, the light never goes out.... THATS RIGHT!! you ned a compute to tell the car its had a service by a garage. has it had one? HOW DO YOU KNOW? cos the light tells you? please!

 

new cars are ok by the government but i'll never accept them as being proper cars. even in my 1990 orion, thats 18 years old, has no heated seats, satnav, lights to tell me when i need to fart, it needs to warm up in the morning, you can smell fumes through the heaters and the fookin thing understeers and skids like a bastard. i'll still trust it way more than ESP, ABS, CRAP and any other shite you can hit me with.

the only way id ever spend on a new old ford is if:

 

the shape was a good old 'bugger aerodynamics' shape and was made with simple parts that us mear mortals can repair ourselves.

 

most garages dont have a clue how to fix modern electronics when it goes tits up. its always a brand new rewire job unless you take it to a proper dealer and even then they aint sure

IS all personal taste but wouldnt it be great if Ford did something like this ,im sure in some corner of FORD uk theres a kettle boiling with some retro look waiting to be unleased ,UK always follow usa a few years later and with the uk success of the mustang im sure they will give it a go sometime soon ,

I think the Capri would look better with bigger diameter headlights and reposistioned indicators, would be more"Capri" I think!

i think that there should be a remake of a classic but it can't lose any of the style. The mustang and the gt40 are great looking cars and they are rwd but the fiat 500 and the new beetle are freaks and have lost what the original car was about. If they could make a remake of a classic and keep the shell the same and just little changes to update it like the mustang then it would be great. Knowing ford for cutting costs if it was made it might still have a live axle like the original the mustang has and that would be great. The bottom line is it could be great but it could also be so be a freak of nature that need's to be put down. And if they did make it and it was a freak i'd be having a whip round to stop the designer from ever ruining a classic again
