Burns Posted February 20, 2008 Report Posted February 20, 2008 pulled up to a delivery today, noticed a little puff of smoke from under the bonnet, so popped it to have a check and it was pissing out water from the radiator, bloody thing's split so filled it up at the nearest petrol station and there was oil in the water when i filled it up (it had properly emptied itself of water and it quickly drained itself again ) managed to get home on it, but i don't look forward to the inspection in the daylight tomorrow
Copey Posted February 20, 2008 Report Posted February 20, 2008 oh dear!! sorry to hear that burnsey!!
ZetecVan 2.0 Posted February 20, 2008 Report Posted February 20, 2008 If you need help doing an engine swap, let me know. I've got an engine hoist. Me, you and Simon over at mine one weekend. Beer and engine changing. I can get the Zetec out of mine in under an hour.
Burns Posted February 20, 2008 Author Report Posted February 20, 2008 oh bummer better get the 1600 built to be honest, it wouldn't take much to put together, it's the parts to get it into the car that are the problem (inlet/exhaust manifold, exhaust system, driveshafts), completely skint for a couple of months until i can pay some money off loans etc you know those times when you just can't look at the car without wanting to scrap it

Burns Posted February 20, 2008 Author Report Posted February 20, 2008 i know that feeling well cant u just throw in a cvh or anything to tide you over? i'm guessing it'll cost me about the same for a new rad/new engine that it will to get the bits for the 1600, but that's the problem, the bloody cost and the fact i need the car for work so i can earn the cash in the first place... :sigh:
