Thanks to Willsy who has posted up this warning ...... please be vigilant with your own cars

Had a dodgy looking bloke sniffing around mine at the weekend (On my drive if you dont mind!) He had dark greying hair , medium build and drove a burgandy diesel Shogun.(possibly Irish). Keep a look out he has also pestered a mate of mine in Ewell Surrey.

Horrible to think that it's not even safe in the garage, as we learned from the recent green mkI disappearance... how do the feckers sleep at night? :x

Nice one Jo...

Someone came onto my drive admiring my car the other week... but this was genuine interest - I know a blaggard when I see one - and not to be confused with low life car leafs. Clock em right in the eye and u know what their purpose is... Even hearing about this Mick and I'm smelling a rat...

Sounds very much like the guy who came and asked about a car parked down the lane to my mates garage.

asked about a silver jeep parked up and then pushed passed my mates dad to get a better look at my car and then said "thats a nice car,is it a cosworth"

then he left, none of the neighbours knew him  or had seen before.

he drove a silver R reg subaru legacy.

I just e-mailed the Sutton met police:

Dear Sirs

I represent a web based club for "Old Skool" Ford's - Escorts, Cortina's, Anglia's, Capri's etc to name a few of the models and there appears to have been a couple which have been stolen in recent days.

On our website, it has come to light that a number of people have been approached in the Sutton (A217, Gander Green Lane), Ewell and surrounding towns in the past week by an Irish speaking chap with greying hair and of medium build driving a diesel burgundy Shogun with at least 2 male passengers asking about the cars and driving past their houses. Just today, one of our members who lives in Sutton had the chap knock on his door and ask about his Escort Nimbus.

We are extremely cautious with our precious cars but thought that you may like to know this information because we do not want to become victims.

If you wish to know more, I will be happy to pass any information on to you.

Many thanks in advance of your reply.

Jo Peters

would it not be worth trying to find these and following them back to there yard or something as it sounds like there dodge so they may have something to do with the green mk1 ?

That's a fair point - just knowing where their drum is helps. If anyone sees them around u know what to do

We could flush them out with a honey trap . Park up a mk1 escort on the main A217 road in sutton and see if burgandy shogan man and co turns up for a look . Then follow them and see were they go

now that sounds like an even better plan , the only thing is who wants to lend us a mk1 escort? :D
