The appeal is they have one choke per cylinder the same as weber, dellorto's etc.. and they are cheap.

The only problem is not many people really know what they are doing with them whereas most tuners know thier way around a pair of webers

Gonzo Posted February 24, 2008 Report Posted February 24, 2008 if you can possibly help it, DO NOT BUY CV'S!!! They're sh*te! Look for a set of FLATSLIDES, either Mikuni RS or Keihin FCR. You'll pay a bit more and they're not as common, but they walk all over CV's in terms of simplicity, maintenance and, most importantly, power and throttle response.

Bike carbs are set too close together for that, unless you wanna try and find 4 separate carbs that are the same, but that means BIG hassle cuz you'd have to run 4 separate throttle cables into 1. Best bet really is to get a custom manifold if you wanna run bike carbs. But as I said, don't bother with CV's. Here's a few piccies to show you what I mean. These are CV carbs. DO NOT WANT. These two are FLATSLIDE carbs. DO WANT. Mikuni RS series: Keihin FCR series:

Best bet really is to get a custom manifold if you wanna run bike carbs. it does kind of depend how much work you wanna do to, cos banks of 4 carbs do split into singles or you could get 2 sets of twin carbs. You'd need to make up a throttle linkage and link the fuel which is just a few bits of pipe the linkage could be tricky depending on carbs etc but it prob wouldn't cost as much as a manifold but then the custom one would be easier to set up and prob better suited to the carbs so giving more power potential. All about the money really

Precrossflow ports, as far as I can see [as I got one in my tina], are too close together and too small to be able to properly fit a pair of carbs side by side in such a manner, even if you do break em down into pairs.
