Mr mot tester failed mine on the oldskool sticker, a sidelight and a binding brake. I don't mine the brake and light fault but the sticker???

Anyone else had this problem??

Will I get away with fitting smaller wiper blades on re-test??

Is it across the top of the windscreen? If the wiper blades touch it, it's a fail.

I've never had that problem but my old BMW got a fail for having furry dice...

Depends on the test station, for around 6 years my plastic has had a sticker advertising the company that did the bodywork. For as long as I've had it I've taken it to the same MOT station who have always passed it with it on.

For ease of use I took it to another garage up from where I used to work (They do vehicle recovery) & they failed it.

Upon arguing that it was sat in the factory sunstrip & didn't impede my vision as I'm not 7' 6", they eventually agreed to pass it on the understanding that if was stopped for it, I was to say that it was added after the MOT.

Can't see how it can be a distraction to the driver or whatever when it's at the top of the screen, are they implying that all factory fit sunstrips are also illegal as the wiper blades go through that too?

Don't say that, I've got my MOT this month. OSF sticker, furry dice, chip in the windscreen and the laminate is coming away. Best get a new screen now then

anything hanging from the mirror (dice) is an MOT fail! as is anything inside the sweep of the wiperblades even if its a few mill of a tax disc holder excluding the circle of the disk itself! :?

the law can be an ass!

in the mot book it states that you're allowed 10 mm maximum covered in zone a. (zone a being the drivers side view)

my peugeot has an 8 inch sun strip so it failed mot :(

my uncle had his mini fail an M.O.T ,because he had two 6"X6" stickers in the back window in the lower corners?

not sure why it failed ,but it did, so he had to remove them?

Thats the problem mate, no matter how silly it may seem rules are rules. He could lose his job by passing it, He could have failed it for wipers not clearing screen effectivley cos you fitted smaller ones. Its all swings and roundabouts mate at least it didn't fail for rust
