jimbo Posted March 19, 2008 Report Posted March 19, 2008 Here are some pics from Concorde's final flight. This was taken by a supplier of mine, as it took off from LHR and this one was taken by me as it came to land at Filton. When a little lad, my dad took us to Heathrow to watch it come in to land. That was in the day when you could park on the circuit road right at the end of end of the runway.......What a noise Then years later, when we'd moved to Brizzle, my Mum won an auction for a go in the simulator, as a surprise for my Dad. He blagged for me and my bro to go with him....That was an amazing experience. I'm always happy to boast that I've landed Concorde at JFK, having taken off at Heathrow! It felt like a sad day for me, as I have many happy memories of this plane, and they always make me think of my Dad.
emu Posted March 20, 2008 Report Posted March 20, 2008 How big is she?? It doesnt look as big as I had imagined?
Durham Fiesta Posted March 20, 2008 Report Posted March 20, 2008 must have been a good pilot to land it on that runway it looks smaller than i thought it was
BIGKEV Posted March 20, 2008 Report Posted March 20, 2008 interesting fact that when concorde went to its top speed it grew 1 extra metre in length due to heat expansion!
Tom Posted March 20, 2008 Report Posted March 20, 2008 I heard that for every hour in the air, concorde needed 15 hours maintenance on the ground - classic old bus
