Ultimate car cover?

Just got my new Permabag car cover to stop the problem with damp over the winter, tried two breathable covers good but never stopped the gradual process of messing up the finish of the engine bay etc.

 

Works by reducing the humidity in an air tight bag, stainless cylinders filled with desiccant absorbs the moisture trapped in the car

should work for 3 or 4 months before the cylinders need recharging.

 

If this works it will money well spent.

looks the biz m8, i have got one from these ppl http://www.cover-zone.co.uk/ which isnt too bad but does get a bit damp under there after a couple of weeks.

Just looked at cover zones web site not one I tried, like you say damp is the problem with the normal car cover.

 

I would like to move so I can get a garage but her in doors wont budge.

m8 ive got one of these. stored the car all last winter,dry as a bone. put a small amount of bycarb of soda in the car in a cap stops any smell.the canisters need cooking every now and then to keep humidity down, but i thought it was brilliant and no electric

out of interest which covers did u buy and which would you recommend?

1st car cover I had which was crap fell to pieces after 12 months was supposed to be a tailored fit cost £150 ended up down the dump dammed if I can remember the company name.

 

2nd cover from specialised car covers cost £190 made from webflex http://www.carcoversuk.com/carcoversmanufacturers.htm not bad lasted two years a good fit never lifted in the wind the only problem I had was after it rained there was always a layer of dirt between the car and cover no amount of cleaning of the cover would stop this.

 

3rd cover and in my opinion is still the best for short term use is from covercraft the weathershield fabric http://www.covercraft-europe.com/homepage_car.html when it rains the water beads and only absorbs 5% amazing to witness, the other fabrics can retain 55% which require long periods to dry out.

 

4th cover and my last, for long term stowage is the Permabag requires no power tough as old boots and in my opinion is better than the carcoon system.
