New body shells

Hi guys and girls, newbie here

 

Are there any companies out there who make new shells for either the MK1 capri, MK1 or MK2 escort?

no they dont but dont know why as u can get a brand new mini/mgb shell dont think there would be any shortage of buyers or is it down to ford not letting anyone reproduce the shells

I thought the RSOC were starting to reproduce some parts in conjunction with a manufacturer??? I heard it somewhere but not sure if it's true

a lot of the original ford presses were destroyed whereas the bl group ones survived which is why you can only get the heritage shells

maybe the appeal of an osf would be less if you could buy a brand new osf??????

 

Just a thought, anyone got any opinions on this? I like thinking about where my osf's have been or what they have done and witnessed in their life or am i just wierd!

Thing is, the heritage shells are the reason why

there's so many of those bloody MG's around

(No offence to any MG owners but I see them everyday in Oxford

and I'm sick of the sight of them...)

 

 

So, that's what makes old Fords so expensive, every1 remembers em.

And I personally think the reason for the latest price hikes are due to the

fact that a lot of people ran them thru the 80's etc then had to sell due to

family commitments etc, then when the kids have grtown up, the house

is paid and Joe Bloggs has a few quid he thinks of an old car to play/tinker

with.

 

He thinks for a minute and... BANG!! the memories of said old skool ford

come flooding back.

So with a few grand in his pocket he buys his OSF...

 

Job done...... Until he gets it home

 

I personally prefer havin to weld up an old shell....
