mr shag Posted April 19, 2008 Report Posted April 19, 2008 been helping a mate of mine change engines after his vauxhall race engine blew up at 8000rpm on track he made a good job of it
bmxdave Posted April 19, 2008 Report Posted April 19, 2008 I always say, if your gonna break something, break it properly. And that he did.
Burns Posted April 20, 2008 Report Posted April 20, 2008 could you congratulate him from us? job well done there
jed Posted April 20, 2008 Report Posted April 20, 2008 At least he done the job properly no half measures 100%
Trevmk3 Posted April 20, 2008 Report Posted April 20, 2008 bit of gaffer tape on the piston and it will be up and running in no time
mr shag Posted April 20, 2008 Author Report Posted April 20, 2008 Ouch, that looks expensive! it was a used engine that cost £1000 18 months ago and the only thing that be used again is the cam to say he`s not happy is a bit of an understatment
Admin Vista Posted April 20, 2008 Admin Report Posted April 20, 2008 To be fair though if it was a race engine for £1000 I'd say it had had a good innings already though mate. He's had it for 18 months, how long did the previous owner thrash the pants off it for?
louie bagel Posted April 20, 2008 Report Posted April 20, 2008 it was a used engine that cost £1000 18 months ago and the only thing that be used again is the cam to say he`s not happy is a bit of an understatment pist n broke
RS264 Posted April 21, 2008 Report Posted April 21, 2008 at least when my missus siezed her 2 litre Escort, all the damage stayed inside! just replaced a piston, 2 1 conrod and 2 valves. All fixed and going in no time. BUT that is a classic! Can you weld up the piston?
