V8ian Posted April 23, 2008 Report Posted April 23, 2008 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fecking price of Rover spares, Last season I damaged bent the crank, broke the timing gear, rockers clipped a couple of valves, so I have decided to change the valves, all 16 of the buggers, Real Steel dont go up to the size I need and neither do most of the other "Tuners" Ive found one Builder that has them in stock, @ just shy of £400 + VAT so thats nearly £500 for the set including postage, I was recently offerd a set of Titanium valves for far less, but the machining of Berylium Bronze seats and valve guides has really put me off that idea, Checked the cam the other day, is got 2 damaged lobes, as its a unusual grind, I need to get one made, Not as expensive as I expected, untill I was told the price of the followers that I need due to the type of material they have used to make the cam out of, now a cam change is heading towards £600 For the amount of piggin money I have thrown at this engine I could have built a strong Ally headed stroker SBF. Rant Over!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have my eyes on another engine, US sourced, but are good for 500++hp on stock internals so I have been told and if it turns up it may well be the bargain of the year,
