antz Posted April 29, 2008 Report Posted April 29, 2008 my dad just got back from new zealand today after being there for 3 weeks. then my mum todle me my dad wants to move there permanantly my grandad already lives there 6months of the year but is looking to move there permanantly....and now my rents are.. kinda got me worried cos they seem serious and im not the kind of person who like change or to plan things...(ive lived in the sme house all 19years of my life). i like the idea of it with the old fords, the weather, the peace and stuff but i dunno...its just aint england.....then again england is full of robbing bastards and ya taxed on ya monthly tax which sucks...taxed for breathing next. just cant sleep cos all i can think about now is if they do go to Nz...What do i do? would i go with r stay here...if i went with then id have prolbkems of what to do with the GF and if i stayed id never ever see my parents and be taxed to fook on evrything i do. my dad has even told me that the old ford scene is really big there, took loads of pis of old fords and that i could ship the terracotta terror over there for £1500 and they dont have insurance out there..if your driving and you have a crash. the person at fault pays for everything out of their own pocket. if you injure someone the government pays ..hnce why young 18year olds can rive 400bhp skylines etc.. anyway im rambling... i ant sleep cos im stuck between a rock and a hard place....(nothing might happen but then you never know they might decde to do it..they already got property brochures)
mossy Posted April 29, 2008 Report Posted April 29, 2008 mate....do it, just up and go! 3 of my friends did it to oz last year and they have never looked back, they say its the best thing they have ever done! My parents are always going on about how they should of moved over to oz (as ive got loads of family over there) years ago and how they regret it now as the country has gone to pot.
antz Posted April 29, 2008 Author Report Posted April 29, 2008 yeh its true but im not one for liking change. i dunno if i could cope over there...i keep thinking that its only a few small islands...then so is england if i went id need to find an ccountnacy job and to be honest i dont really wanna leave the gf behind and i dont think her and her mum would come with me. i dunno what to do. they only been on about it today so itllpan out and see what hapepens but its the sudden thing of 'were thinkign about moving to NZ' my dad even bought me a ford mag bck full of OSF drag cars and reports of their burnout constests over there to entice me
Mrs O/H/C Posted April 29, 2008 Report Posted April 29, 2008 DO IT ... MOVE !! AT LEAST THEN YOU HAVE TRIED IT AND IF IT DOESNT WORK OUT THEN YOU CAN COME BACK .. BUT IF YOU DONT DO IT YOU MIGHT REGRET IT LATER
antz Posted April 29, 2008 Author Report Posted April 29, 2008 yeh im thinking that....only live once and everything...plus i could go show the V8 boys what a mighty xflow can do its just a bit daunting saying they wanna move. i can fully understand why and i do like the idea but im scared of leaving behind what i have here....job, friends, gf, i dont like change (my bedroom has been the same colour for 8 years cos im afriad if i change it i wont like it )
Mrs O/H/C Posted April 29, 2008 Report Posted April 29, 2008 JUST LOOK AT IT AS A BIG ADVENTURE ... LONG HOLIDAY ETC AND DONT LOOK TO FAR AHEAD
antz Posted April 29, 2008 Author Report Posted April 29, 2008 its a lot of money though....irs cost me £1500 to get my escort over there cos theres no way in hell id leave it behind...and if i didnt like it then itd be another £1500 to bring it back...thats £3k just moving the damn car around! then id have to get a job, get a house, learn my way round, make friends from scratch, work out the currency, put up with a completely new place, work out whatd happen between me and becky (gf), get all my stuff shipped over there.. and if i didnt like it then its the whole oppsoite to do the thing in reverse....i dont normally plan my weekend until 9am saturday mornign so the diea of my parents wanting to mvoe acorss the other side of the world is like WOAAAAHHHHHH
ZetecVan 2.0 Posted April 29, 2008 Report Posted April 29, 2008 My parents almost went over in the 60s when it was subsidised by the government. My mate went to Oz a couple of years ago after getting made redundant here. His sister lives over there so moved in with her for a few months while he got sorted. Soon after he met and married a wealthy businesswoman. Spawny git. Do it.
Mrs O/H/C Posted April 29, 2008 Report Posted April 29, 2008 WHHOOOAAAA UP !! ITS ONLY TALK ATM ... JUST WAIT AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS,THERES PLENTY OF TIME TO THINK IT ALL THROUGH YET ( THEY ARE NOT MOVING TOMORROW ) SOMETIMES CHANGE IS FOR THE BETTER ... I MOVED TO CORNWALL 18 MONTHS AGO AND IT WAS THE BEST THING I HAVE DONE ALL MY LIFE. I HAVE A HOUSE/A BUSINESS/NEW FRIENDS ..
antz Posted April 29, 2008 Author Report Posted April 29, 2008 a guy i know at work, his brother has just gone to OZ to live permamantly and supposedly loves it. its warm all year round. no salty roads so i wouldnt need a daily driver cos id have the escort all year round. petrol is £3 a gallon....just a shame itd be so bloody far away from england and everything i know and love but its too far away to get posioned by the stuff i hate i know its only talk at the moment but last eyar they talke about moving to morrocco and it was all i heard for 6 months and they very nearly did it but i cant rememer why they didnt. my parents get it into their head and thats it
Gonzo Posted April 29, 2008 Report Posted April 29, 2008 Dude, wimmin come and go at the end of the day. Go to NZ without the car for a while. Leave it with a mate or something. Then if you decide you can stick it, come back for the car. But seriously, it's worth getting out of this shitbox country ASAP, cuz it's going down the pan and ain't gonna get better any time soon. I guarantee you'll be happier over there, girlfriend or no, and at the end of the day, everybody owes it to themselves to make themselves happy if they can manage it. Better weather, better roads, better cars, better people, better women, better quality of life. Get on the King boat, cuz if you don't, I'd gladly go in your place with no second thoughts!
mossy Posted April 29, 2008 Report Posted April 29, 2008 if your really set on not going...then why not just stay and let them go?
Posse Posted April 29, 2008 Report Posted April 29, 2008 Yeah get your own place so we can have bbq's and partys

Admin Mk2Jo Posted April 30, 2008 Admin Report Posted April 30, 2008 Mate, you are 19 ... you are old enough to make a life for yourself. If you wanna stay in the UK then start looking for a place to rent with your g/f ... if you wanna go with your folks then start enquiring about shipping the Escort out there
Admin Mk2Jo Posted April 30, 2008 Admin Report Posted April 30, 2008 I HAVE A HOUSE/A BUSINESS/NEW FRIENDS .. but your daughter stayed behind didn't she because that was what she wanted - to stay with her friends and familiar surroundings. I guess you are perhaps giving antz a parent's perspective on the move
