Good luck with whatever yopu do mate. I had a pinto in my 4 door and now a crossflow in my estate and I have to say love the revvy crossflow loads more. That I said i know it can be frustaring when something don't work so i hope you get sorted.

Whats the crossflow doing?

I always found them easy and better than the pinto.

There's not much to them so it can't be that hard to fix.

It's not the same. I can pick up a complete crossflow I can't pick up a pinto.

You need to keep eating your weetabix then

Pushrod King from turbosport came over and we got it running like brand new... had new plugs, leads, gapped the points and timed it up nicely.

came out the next morning and it wont fire. just keeps turning and turning with occasional backfire.

I'da said it was erectrical. Whip a plug out and get someone to spin it over, see if you're getting a spark.

Then go wire chasing, see if you can find any even mildly dodgy connections or a bad earth or something. The daftest thing'll have you stumped.

If you gots a spare coil kicking about, swap em over and see what happens.

Believe me, I know all about having to pissball about with things not going. I've had my bike to bits more times than I've had hot dinners. Plugs, dodgy connections, disintegrating reed valves, broken wires, duff suppressor caps...

Never heard of an RS2000 then Rick

Remove the king lead (main lead from dizzy to coil) from the dizzy side and hold it near to a earthing point, use insulated or plastic pliers or similar, or wedge it in the engine lifting eye if you have one.

Spin engine and you should get a nice spark, if you do then do then the point/condensor and coil are fine.

Next reconnect but remove a plug lead connect an old spark plug and earth it, again you should have a good spark.

This will check your car rotor arm etc.

If you have a spark then the timing may have slipped ? If not then replaced the rotor arm 1st (they track internally) then cap and leads.
