Me and my mate ordered some road legal trackday rubber today for our escorts . We went for the yoko A048R's 175/50/13's cos 185/60/13 R888's look like baloons and won't fit on our motors  . Now Billy Clarke had A048R's on Tango and they worked well so has anyone else tried them at Santa Pod and what 0-60 foot times did you get ? Cheers :thumbsup:pictures686.jpg

I have some in Medium compound and they wheelspin all the way through first gear, but them mine is wrong wheel drive.

...and don't listen to anyone that says they are the same as a drag slick as they are worlds apart  but I'm sure you know that

I improved from 2.5 seconds to 60' down to 2.2 but other factors were involved, more power less weight etc.. definatly a slight improvement over your average tyres

By the way Billy recorded 1.8 sec 0-60 foots at the Pod on his 175/50/13's A048R's . Tangos performance is very impressive , this motor run 13.0 secs at the Pod and it was still street legal when it did it . 8) . In fact this is the joint fastest ever road legal oldskoolford run without turbos , slicks + gas :worship:

Might look like ballons, but 888Rs are really grippy, my 60fts are just into the 1.5s so the deffo work!!!!!

Yes R888's are hardcore but won't fit on my car unless i buy new 6 inch wide rims as well . Boxxers mk1 escort went 0.5 secs faster with R888's over his normal rubber and reckons he had to use 6000 rpm off the line as they gripped so much 8) . I might get some later and see

I have been through my records and my best is a 1.99 60ft on 185-60-13 048R's so Tango certainly has a good combination of parts! :ykt::thumbsup:

Ok thanks mate . We can do 2.0sec 60 foots on cheapo A539's when the tracks hot and my mates Anglia with R888's does 1.9 secs . A new tyre to try are Avon CR500's , these are on the new Catheram superlight R500 and my mate has them on his Mini (600+bhp 7 litre  ) . His cars hooks up hard on the street and he reckons they are the best tyre for sure . £150 each though !!!!!!!!!
