Race numbers are illegal if displayed on a car on the public road to the best of my knowlage, If you have numbers on your door you should have a clear black line through them.

omg how stupid :?

but then again how many police would atually know this law? bit like lal the trailor laws maby

When me and my mate were running in his nova rally car engine on the road we got stoped and got a stern warning from a traffic sargent about the use of race numbers on the road, they think it premotes raceing on the highway :mrgreen::mrgreen: Technically dukes of hazzard genrel lee replicas shouldnt have 0 1 on the door withont a line through the numbers because the law see them as raceing numbers.

Yes, should be crossed through with black tape on the road, or you could be competing on the road, which to be fair makes sence.

Apparently the FIA or who-ever have been known to disipline people displaying their numbers too.

Just the roundals (spelling) look ok IMO, you could just try it and see. I wrongly display my numbers, without any reprocusions to date.

I have moments where I like them, and then take them off for a few months, then Brighton Speed Trials come round again so they go back on for a bit.

I quite like the look of them, but prefer the sleeper feel without them.

So what about fleet numbers on lorrys and buses, are they allowed, can't have a law for one and not for another

Good point steve :thumbsup: As with alot of the law nower days its down to "officer descression" if you know what i meen. If you ride round with a car that looks like its come stright from the daytona 500 then expect to be pulled up if your car is no 4 in a fleet of thousands then i wouldnt expect any trouble.

there no law against runnin a road car with door numbers, its the msa (motorsport governin body in the uk) who make competition cars put a line through the number when out of an event

havin number will proberly make u more prone to get pulled over by the police tho

ive had large door squares with a large number on each side for over two years now with the smallest pin stripe an had no probs with the law ive now taken off the pin stripe but keep some black tape in the car just in case the fuzz pull me...
