antz Posted June 24, 2008 Report Posted June 24, 2008 Now im annoyed at ebay. Yes its a pain with this and that btu ive always put up with it....then they go introdcue a new search so when i type in ESCORT MK2 i get every auction that has something to do with ford somehow....I DONT WANT A SET OF MK5 ESCORT BRAKE PADS!!! I cant even get rid of the new search cos the 'opt out' button isnt working! ebay....kiss my arse
hotrodholty Posted June 24, 2008 Report Posted June 24, 2008 did the same myself, load of shite but i just opted out and all was ok it is annoying though mate, i dont get it, its worked fine the same way for years so why change it.
Cookie Posted June 24, 2008 Report Posted June 24, 2008 I opted out aswell, comes up with new search automatically now with no opt-out button, I'm sensing it's the start of the changeover, everyone will be on it soon! And as for Ebay in general, I can't believe the cock up of things they are doing, I make a large % of my living on there and as soon as a viable alternative comes through I'm off there, It's the begining of, maybe not the end, BUT a severe downturn for ebay, the proof is in the numbers and if you look at the numbers the other auction sites are growing by, says it all. Also on the chat boards the amount of sellers not selling and buyers not buying, Give it 2 years and ebay will a completly different place, and not for the better.
antz Posted June 24, 2008 Author Report Posted June 24, 2008 turns out you can opt out for 4 weeks. then thats it
surfingturnip Posted June 24, 2008 Report Posted June 24, 2008 the new serch is uber gay and I've already opted out once ages ago so cant do it again
omj624p Posted June 24, 2008 Report Posted June 24, 2008 Do what? Ebay looks the same to me as it has always looked Am I missing something?
Cookie Posted June 24, 2008 Report Posted June 24, 2008 Do what? Ebay looks the same to me as it has always looked Am I missing something? Your time will come m8 It's ebays new search, when you look for something, where the old search used to generally bring up what you want, the new one brings up all the crap you don't want!! As Antz said in coming weeks everyone will be forced to use it.....it's bunk!!!
Savvi Posted June 24, 2008 Report Posted June 24, 2008 I opted out and sent a email saying how rubbish the new search was, now i'm back on the new system my 4 weeks must have lapsed The only good thing about ebay is the coverage you get, had my Anglia on here for a month no enquires had on ebay for 1/2 a day and sold it and could have 4 or 5 times over from the calls and interest i had. I have found with the new search if you keep clicking on the left side you can get it down to what your looking for, i found something mis typed which i would not had on the old search.
bigglesmk2 Posted June 24, 2008 Report Posted June 24, 2008 Thats how they get more people to buy buy more junk !!! And yeah the new way is pants but then again so is ebay anyway.
Gonzo Posted June 25, 2008 Report Posted June 25, 2008 What other auction sites are there then? Anyone got any preferences? Cuz I think ebay's naff now an' all. Was just looking for some CCM bits, and I'm getting bloody Derbi exhausts? WTF?!!
