Problems with a pug 306 diesel

hi guys got a pug 306 the other day and the thing is apparently drinking oil and it has NO power under 2.5k rpm none at all wont accelerate and will stall and also smokes like a bastard if you try to accelerate at low revs ...

 

havent had a chance to havbe a good look at it yet as i only picked itup last night and am at work atm but im not Sure what is gonna be any idea guys ?

turbo or no turbo?

if turbo i'd be checking the inlet for oil they like to eat seals

id have to say i thought they were all turbo like tom say's,nearly all pug's are turbo unless you go back to the early 1.9 diesel

check for air leaks or air in the system

or pump timming

if he had wanted sensable answer he would'nt have asked on here sam

 

andrew i would have thought it would be a turbo diesel to start off with and i cant see y it would'nt have been as pug's are like that,as it had a engine change,the nun-turbo engine's are just ploder's and take for ever to get going

my mum recently had a non turbo one

 

it went to the scrappers due to engine failures same with the citroen before hand and the R19 before that.......i keep telling her to stop buying french cars but she wont listen and now has another xanthia

 

her ancient transit however has just done mega road trip fully laden all over the country and not missed a beat
