Mate, i dont want to critisize, il put it best i can.... some poeople spend far too much time on ebay, as a result it shows in the car itself and before you know it you end up with an old skool ford that resembles a carnival float... dont do it mate, save up for the decent stuff, your car deserves it fella. i have in the past tried to cut costs and cut corners by doing things on the cheap and believe me everytime, one way or another it bites me in the arse... save up for a decent FULL system, leave the bolt on tat to the saxo/scooby boys, our cars are more special than that.
caprinerd Posted July 29, 2008 Report Posted July 29, 2008 ok im going to use my side exit card again

Agreed mate, then do it the old skool way, straight bit of pipe with a chrome trim on the back
Retro-gone. Posted July 29, 2008 Author Report Posted July 29, 2008 lol, thats more or less how it is now.
Admin Vista Posted July 29, 2008 Admin Report Posted July 29, 2008 What about going down to a local rapid fit / kwik fit style place and seeing if they have any obsolete stock going for scrap. Find one the right pipe diameter and weld a few brackets on and that should keep you going a while. My mate made up a whole system for his mk1 capri like that and as I recall it cost him peanuts.

livewire7116 Posted July 29, 2008 Report Posted July 29, 2008 SAYING THAT STUCK IN MY MIND "BUY CHEAP! BUY TWICE"!!!!!

bmxdave Posted July 29, 2008 Report Posted July 29, 2008 If you want noise take a 1 metre length off your manifold, a 45 or 30 degree bend, and roughly a half metre piece. Paint the end in bbq matt black or ceramic style white and your laughing. Only reason i took mine off is failing an MOT on flames and the fact im up at 6.30 for work, and everyone in my road is retired or got kids.
Retro-gone. Posted July 30, 2008 Author Report Posted July 30, 2008 no i dont want it too loud, just throaty. plus it needs to look good.
X-pack-Glyn Posted July 30, 2008 Report Posted July 30, 2008 Stainless bike can! sod all cost compared to a new stainless box for a car, and with a nice pinto with good compression will sound ok.
Retro-gone. Posted July 30, 2008 Author Report Posted July 30, 2008 hmm, ive got my standard stainless can off my bandit hell why not go the whole hog and fit a straight thro 347 Yoshimura system
