Finally bothered to dig out the TJ fuel injection parts I have for a crossflow.

Haven't looked at them for years as there are some bits missing, but with the wonders of the internet, now is a better time than ever to find stuff out and get spares

So........ anyone running a similar set up or have any parts kicking around???

Pile of fecin poo, I had a set on a 289, most unreliable set up you could imagine, its a pure race system and therefore has no idle circuit, and i doubt if you can still get fuel and air cams so you can set it up correctly

Go for it, who needs an idle anyway!!

i have most of the tj set up too.there is an old boy who has this running perfectly on his mk2 lotus cortina.i was thinking of converting it to run on modern injectors, but i'm waiting for someone else to do all the hard work first, then i will copy it :D do you have the inlet manifold too?

the last few tj bits i've seen on e-bay have gone for silly money !!

Not got the inlet manifold. Looks like it'll bolt up to one for twin 40s though.

Have you got the fuel pump then?? If so, lets have a look

fi you wan tto convert it to electronic injection, it all looks feasable, I was looking at another TJ system to do this with, probably end up using Pico injectors because of their size, When I had my system I did look into using Ktronic constant flow mechanical injectors, that way you can keep the purity of running mechanical injection,

Russ, not trying to put you off, but you need to be dedicated to run the system, but you are missing 2 pumps, the electric main pump and the pulse pump and the drive assy, have you got the throttle links, as they are particular to the setup you are running as they need to keep the tension on the air cam, I cant see fuel lines but I can see the distribution block on the side of the TB, they are normally 1/8th bore with a wire wound protector over the top.

If you want to make yourself smile, have a look at the injectors, they are dead easy to take apart, the jet runs accross a venturi to atomise the fuel, and the jet is a surgical needle crimped to get the correct flow rate and patern then silver soldered to the threaded part of the injector body,

and in essence this makes the TJ system little more than a pressurised carb system

I even tracked down the fella who designed the system in the 60s, he was still working for TJs in Southamption, he was helpfull, but somewhat cynical as to why I would want to use the system as the system never really worked that well, It was fine untill the lucas injection showed it how to do the job better,

I'm not really sure what I want to do with it or even which car I might like to try it on! Just interested to see if anyone knew about it or had the missing parts.

not got the pump, got the booklet (in top right of pic) somewhere ,i must get all the bits together again and see what i have.the manifold i have is angled upwards a bit with TJ cast into it.the only real reason to run this system in it's intended form would be for the pure original retro look .i have half looked at going modern and was advised to use the pico injectors too by neil at 105speed,who was looking into doing the same at one time.
