X-pack-Glyn Posted August 19, 2008 Report Posted August 19, 2008 Oh Joy of joys, i updated my unit sunday night and the last 2 days i have sailed past camaras on roads i dont know as there has been no audiable warning, phoned tom tom and the responce i got... "ah yes sir, we deleted the audiable waring as customers were complaining" WTF, do they all want points on thier licence then.. give me strength!! apparently it only gives an audiable warning if you are exceeding the speed limit which is all well and good, however.... on the restricted temp limits, motorsways and duals and suchlike the temp speed limit doesnt come up on the unit meaning no audiable warning, great, so now oi have to drive round with my eyes glued to the unit instead.. im trying to de update the unit as we speak, but this is proving to be a pain in the arse...
antz Posted August 19, 2008 Report Posted August 19, 2008 the joys of twat nav. just buy a map and drive slower

X-pack-Glyn Posted August 19, 2008 Author Report Posted August 19, 2008 i dont use the sound any way..some times working 12hrs day with it going beep beep can be annoying it can, but id rather put up with beep beep all day than 3 points and a 60 quid fine per day.
X-pack-Glyn Posted August 19, 2008 Author Report Posted August 19, 2008 Oh dear that can be a bummer, having to pay attention to the road's your driving on oh it can be, doing what im expected to do.... i have put in a reccy for a heli as my next company vehicle, then maybe i could meet all my customers and employers demands
Admin Vista Posted August 19, 2008 Admin Report Posted August 19, 2008 Too late, already done. I don't think I had the audible warnings for them turned on anyway.
Trevmk3 Posted August 19, 2008 Report Posted August 19, 2008 clever people at tomtom then only use mine occasionally, usually when im collecting parts
Mr Sam Posted August 19, 2008 Report Posted August 19, 2008 mine was playing right up when i last updated it when i finally got it going i think ive lost audiable warnings for cameras
X-pack-Glyn Posted August 19, 2008 Author Report Posted August 19, 2008 mine was playing right up when i last updated it when i finally got it going i think ive lost audiable warnings for cameras Apparently its due to customer complaints, but id hazzard a guess at a little cash injection from the goverment due to too many lost fines is closer to the truth. the audiable warning does come in if you are exceeding the limit which is fair enough, problem is though the unit often displays the wrong top speed for a given road, normally 10-20 mph more than it actually is. also it will display the wrong top speed at roadworks which often have cameras too.
