martymk1 Posted August 22, 2008 Report Posted August 22, 2008 thinking about getting one' how do you get the mp3's onto them? can you drag and drop? or copy and paste? or do you have to get them through i tunes?
ZetecVan 2.0 Posted August 22, 2008 Report Posted August 22, 2008 I've got one... Or rather I bought one, and the wife nicked it. You use iTunes to load up all your music onto your computer, and then you sync it across to the ipod using a dock or usb cable, so whatever music is in your itunes automatically gets put onto your ipod
stevepeanut Posted August 22, 2008 Report Posted August 22, 2008 I just bought one from "electronics exchange" in Leeds, its got 20 gb which looks enough to hold all my cd collection. I-tunes is hard to describe how to use on here, but its piss easy once its running. Next purchase is the ipod turntable where you can poke the ipod in the side of the turntable and download all your vynil straight onto it
Burns Posted August 22, 2008 Report Posted August 22, 2008 Itunes is a drag and drop system, it's pretty easy if you've used anything similar in the past one word of warning though, you can only upload music from one computer onto your ipod, if you want to upload from another one you will have to wipe the ipod and start again. and don't delete the songs from your computer, that really confuses it

Just dont check the box to 'sync' ipod with computer. This matches your ipod library to the one in itunes which is why it wipes everytime you put it onto another computer. I steal songs off mates computers all the time. Hope this solves your problem Burns

martymk1 Posted August 23, 2008 Author Report Posted August 23, 2008 i've already put a load of music already onto my comp? could i use these? & not use i tunes? don't understand i tunes' already got a 40g mp3 player, but its a bit bulky' there's some good deals on i-pods round my way at the moment'
2.8i Cossie Posted August 23, 2008 Report Posted August 23, 2008 I tunes is required to put music onto the ipod and let you manage it into albums and playlists. Its free and takes about 5 mins to learn basic navigation. Plus its collects all the music in the hard drive and organizes it for you

stevepeanut Posted August 23, 2008 Report Posted August 23, 2008 my ipod is set to manual, so it doesnt get wiped. out of interest, whats everyones ipods called? mine is "randy watson"
2.8i Cossie Posted August 24, 2008 Report Posted August 24, 2008 If you get an FM transmitter for the ipod it means you can listen to the music in your OSF without having to change the cassette player to a new CD player!! just in case you want to keep the OSF period!
Copey Posted August 24, 2008 Report Posted August 24, 2008 shite-pod i am the only person i know who doesnt have a ipod i dont either, i have a Zen Vision instead

m1c Posted August 24, 2008 Report Posted August 24, 2008 how much music can you listen to in 1 go?! my phone has a 1gig card, thats a couple of albums to listen to, does mp3 and wma... why get an ipod
richie_stix Posted August 24, 2008 Report Posted August 24, 2008 sorry if you already bought one, but i hate them... they are mp3 players for idiots... get a decent mp3 player thats NOT ipod cause 'iTunes' is a pain in the ass, and will slow your computer down (as it runs in the back ground unless you stop it in the task manager)... just my opinion, and the sound quality (if you are an audiophile) aint great... just my 2 cents
Tracey Posted August 24, 2008 Report Posted August 24, 2008 Just get a Bose sound dock aswell, fab sound quality
