it takes a lot of work to get 200bhp out of a pinto you would do better going n/a cosworth, if you go with the pinto your going to need steel rods and crank, forged pistons as a start if pinto is the wy you want to go i would speak to a engine builder for there advice

A mate just sold his 234bhp Mk2 Escort. It had a Pinto with a Cossy crank, 45 DCOE Webers, own designed electronic ignition and had run it on methanol. A very quick Mk2! All self built too..

Efi bootom end will do, check out turbo sports there a chap on there building 2 pintos, 1 balls out racer 1 milder street motor

Personly i doubt it's any more expensive to get an 8V pinto to 200 BHP than it is to get a cossie head worked to N/A

Very easy to get 200hp from pinto

2.2 on a std crank (no need the steel crank)

diesel rods

forged pistons

Ht /vulcan race head

48s/50s

and away you go

Yep, that's the way to do it

I'm only 5-10 bhp short of the figure you want and am only running 45's with a milder cam than Vulcan likely fit inb their heads. A YB crank and steel rods is expensive overkill.
