Rick Posted August 27, 2008 Author Report Posted August 27, 2008 Fook me That must have been some harsh cornering to bust one of them. theres some pretty harsh speed humps round here too and the roads are pothole central.... wonder if i can write to the council and make them buy me a new set of springs and an exhaust for not repairing the roads
accord83 Posted August 27, 2008 Report Posted August 27, 2008 Way back in time, Nah farther back than that, 1978, I bust a single leaf rear spring on a new MK2 (panda car) and I was accused by the fleet manager of yumping the vehicle!! As if, Anyway I had a look at the broken spring and saw it had been tempered too hard, (I was an Engineer before I was a copper). It later transpired that 7 other cars on the fleet had the same fault, and Ford replaced the springs on the rest of that batch of our vehicles, It don't half slow you down, and change the colour of your trousers a broken spring, but not quite as much as ripping a nearside strut off!! Paid to thrash MK2's, brilliant.
