chrome on a mk1 cortina

do any of you more experienced cortina nuts no how you remove the top chrome strip that runs around the edge of the roof above the doors as i am nearly all striped down and am unsure how this comes off with out breaking it cheers chris

It does come off, but its a bugger to get back on, you will need to prize an edge off the lip of the gutterI then use a small hardwood wedge inserted in the gutter and tap along the gutter, It comes off quite easily once its started, putting back I normally push it back in with a bit of assistance from the palm of my hand.

I took mine off made a right mess of it and it ended up in thr bin

i have done this and i SLOWLY AND CAREFULLY lifted it up from the underside

then SLOWLY prised it off, to put it back on you have to put it on the top first then push it onto the bottom.
