countrybumpkin Posted September 2, 2008 Report Posted September 2, 2008 i ran out of mig wire so i needed somthing to do so i desided to see how the alfa engine would look in the escort engine bay and of course to see if any body work needs to be modded to make it fit, which of course it dose i need to remove the original gearbox mounts as the box is to wide and its caught so once there out the engine and box will come up 4 inch more so it will clear the steering rack it looks so nice sloted in there
Admin Vista Posted September 2, 2008 Admin Report Posted September 2, 2008 What was/is your solution to the sump problem? P.S. If you really want a powerful lightweight alfa engine try one of these for size, dry sumped as standard too
countrybumpkin Posted September 2, 2008 Author Report Posted September 2, 2008 What was/is your solution to the sump problem? with the engine sat in the car it looks like i can use the standard front bowl sump as it looks like it will clear the steering rack as it sits right on the front of the engine and i think it will clear the anti roll bar as its quite a short engine. i hope
countrybumpkin Posted December 28, 2008 Author Report Posted December 28, 2008 i've got a resto topic going, http://www.oldskoolford.co.uk/phpBB2/vi ... highlight= but nothing else really has been done engine wise
