cisco24uk Posted September 17, 2008 Report Posted September 17, 2008 I am looking to arrange a weekend away for people with classic motors just wondered who would be interested to get an idea of numbers inc cars. It will be hosted at the Kings Arms Hotel in Llandovery as seen here http://www.thekingsarmshotelllandovery.co.uk/ The following will be covered by the price of entry £60 per person for osf members/ £70 for non members. 2 nights tent pitch Evening meal Friday night, Traditional Welsh cowl Breakfast Saturday morning, full cooked meal Packed lunch Saturday Evening meal Saturday Breakfast Sunday morning The meals will be hosted and prepared by the hotel. Arriving on the friday You will be shown to the campsite Approx. <10 mins walk from the hotel. Saturday you will receive a route card showing the route for the "Treasure hunt" the idea will be to follow the route and take pictures of yourselves or your vehicles by selected objects, places and features this route will include some of the black mountains as featured on Top Gear and ending at the museum situated at Pendine Sands. Sunday we hope to have the entrants create a "show" style gathering (site to be confirmed). Then the trip home sunday afternoon. I beleive it is too late in the year to set this up this year unless we set it for December. However I would like people to put down how many vehicles and people you would bring and if you put your contact detail/forum name I will send details as I sort them out.
Admin Mk2Jo Posted September 17, 2008 Admin Report Posted September 17, 2008 I looked into this a couple of years ago but we have so many other things we organise that I didn't get around to it I would deffo be up for this but don't fancy camping between the months of October and April really (a b&b would be okay ). Let me know the dates
Trevmk3 Posted September 17, 2008 Report Posted September 17, 2008 i would be up for this, my mate would probably come as navigator

awesome Posted September 18, 2008 Report Posted September 18, 2008 yes mate, definately up for this, b@ll*cks to camping though, freezin in them there hills Why do you think us Welsh are so fond of our wooly friends nice to sleep next to and then you get to eat them
cisco24uk Posted September 20, 2008 Author Report Posted September 20, 2008 If people did want to do this this year then the hotel have agreed to do it for a limited number at the £70 price with board at the hotel rather than camping. Obviously we would do a different route at each event.
oliver Posted September 22, 2008 Report Posted September 22, 2008 Id also be up for this and so would my mate.
Admin Mk2Jo Posted September 23, 2008 Admin Report Posted September 23, 2008 I think we need some idea of dates. For me personally I would prefer to do this next year just purely because of money
cisco24uk Posted September 23, 2008 Author Report Posted September 23, 2008 Well within a little it is fairly open as to when we do it if people can give me a rough month they would be happy to camp i.e.june/july i can get moving. I am going up next month to work out a few routes to estimate the mileage and time taken. I will post up some vids of the areas to be used. I am assuming that those interested would want it to happen at the beginning of the month so they have money or would you rather to pay ahead of time so you know its covered?
Admin Mk2Jo Posted September 23, 2008 Admin Report Posted September 23, 2008 Anytime from May onwards I think would be good. Remember to avoid the big shows like CF Show/Ford Fair etc. Any day of the month is okay by me - maybe you could put a poll up with a choice of week-ends that you could do and see the response you get
MightySprocket Posted September 23, 2008 Report Posted September 23, 2008 any weekends good for me too, im not camping in the same field as jo though... her snoring is terrible
Admin Mk2Jo Posted September 23, 2008 Admin Report Posted September 23, 2008 any weekends good for me too, im not camping in the same field as jo though... her snoring is terrible Cheeky git ... who told you about that Was it the Jenkins family
cisco24uk Posted September 23, 2008 Author Report Posted September 23, 2008 Well lokking at the dates for this year CF show and Ford fair, which are in june and august, I have spoken to the hotel and penciled in for the weekend 3rd, 4th and 5th of July next year. I have also created and entry formfor those who want to be entered. the hotel has asked that all entries are to be in by 10th June 2009 which gives us lots of time to get as many people as we can involved. If you want an entry form please pm me your email address and I shall get one sent out to you.

alladdin Posted September 24, 2008 Report Posted September 24, 2008 whilst i can see the conection to pendine, its a fairly limited venue and the sands are no longer accessible to cars. it is however only 15 mins more to TENBY which is a very nice place to spend an afternoon (if you like small picturesque harbour towns ) just a thought.
cisco24uk Posted September 24, 2008 Author Report Posted September 24, 2008 There is talk of the sands being reopened next may. And if there is enough interest I can get hold of the local authority who may be able to give us a more exclusive area to meet. However if people do not want to end it at pendine. We can always go on to somewhere else afterwards without any bother.
cisco24uk Posted September 26, 2008 Author Report Posted September 26, 2008 Well we're off to a good start have sent out several applications for this event. Even though its a year ahead if your interested let me know and I will get a form emailled to you. And remember although we are osf if you don't own one that runs you can come in whatever you like just to show support.
