MK2 Harrier Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 I brought a RS PROP from BU###N and at 70mph vibration started and a big THANKS for IAN (DRIVER) for lending his spare prop to find out if it was the prop and yes it was.
DAZZA Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 Yes.... my brother in law had exactly the same problems from burtons.
Baz. Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 take it to propshaft services at feltham mate near heathrow, they will sort it for ya
livewire7116 Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 No you take back to burtons and at least give then the chance to sort it out, what you have to remember they buy them in from a supplier and sell them on, at least give them benefit of the doubt before slagging them off, over the years burtons have no doubt sold you items in the past and youve been more than happy with it, best way to find out about a company is by thier after sales service! Everyone hears about the bad things but how often do they get praised for the good
MK2 Harrier Posted October 5, 2008 Author Report Posted October 5, 2008 By the way i am not slagging them off and i brought this prop 6 months ago and over the last 2 months trying to find the problem, i have spent a lot of money over the years and had no problem with them. Thanks baz i have the address already.
jayson2.3pinto Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 i had the same with my mates prop theere was a batch from burtons that never got balanced frome there supplier so my guess that was on of them is your prop they will correct it free of charge but it is frustrating but with most new products ,many that are inferior yes live wire but with most companys good products that you buy ,you pay a good price
countrybumpkin Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 my burtons prop ws really good but i guess your bound to get a few that are dodgy i'd still give them a call as it should be warrentyed for 12 months
livewire7116 Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 No doubt they are aware of the bad batch and are more than ready for your call, thing is if you dont tell them as far as they are aware youve got a good one! just ask for a replacement by courier and tell them you will have old one ready to be collected at same time
rich_mkii_rs2000 Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 I stopped using them a while back after i bought a wobbly prop and recieved little help when i called them. Took it to JW engineering in Bexleyheath to sort it. Top guys who i should hae used to make me a prop in the first place.
Admin Mk2Jo Posted October 6, 2008 Admin Report Posted October 6, 2008 at least give them benefit of the doubt before slagging them off, Everyone hears about the bad things but how often do they get praised for the good I don't believe Ian was slagging them off Mr Livewire and I am sure he will go back to Burtons to see if they will sort it out.
DEP Posted October 6, 2008 Report Posted October 6, 2008 Happy to help mate, Glad you found the problem
