X-pack-Glyn Posted October 7, 2008 Author Report Posted October 7, 2008 glyn reset the tappets before you start a panic. probley a tight one on the low cylinder We done em all mate, Escort21 fixed HIS mistake and set em to .25 inlet, .30 zorst and it sounds allright now. we set the FR32 to 108 degree's full lift on no1 inlet. ignition timing is set to 10 degree's BTDC. Opened the chokes out under your advice and took 40 thou off an injection head, fitted a slightly modified tony law zorst manifold as well. must admit its never run this good, takes a few goes to start but will tick over quite happy from cold at about 900 rpm, deffo picks up its heels from about 2800 rpm now though
w p e Posted October 7, 2008 Report Posted October 7, 2008 set the timing 10 at TDC btdc will retard it and make it harder to start
X-pack-Glyn Posted October 7, 2008 Author Report Posted October 7, 2008 set the timing 10 at TDC btdc will retard it and make it harder to start 10 degree's BTDC yeah? thats what i want right? it was at 12 degrees BTDC and was a bit easier to start by pumpin the pedal, but had to be warmed up before it would tick over. oh, and now we dialed the cam in its amazing how far away from the dot it is on the head now with the engine set at TDC, i set it to the dot before with the engine at TDC and its een running 12 degrees advanced
