nelly231 Posted October 8, 2008 Report Posted October 8, 2008 Can any one recomend a rolling road in the south east that is capable of all the usual things like setting up webers and cam timing but would also be able to map an MBE for ignition? I have spoken to SPC in horsham and they seem like they know there stuff but wondered if anyone had any other recomendations?

5hane Posted October 8, 2008 Report Posted October 8, 2008 there close to dartford tunnel *think* if you come off the dartford tunnel corssing, (from kent) and leave the motorway, u will be on a huge roundabout. this is the same if you come from lakeside, just go towards dartfor crossing (DONT GO OVER IT , stay on the roundabout) theres a premiour inn.. take the exit straight after that (theres traffic lights there) then keeeppp following the big long road (think its the old a13).. untill you reach a bridge with 2 roundabouts, co across the bridge (2nd exit each roundabout) then if you look to ur left, there will be a caravan selling place, and its right next to that where are you coming from m8? ill do a google map special for you

Mk 1 Mark Posted October 8, 2008 Report Posted October 8, 2008 HT racing 5 mins from brands hatch have a rolling road now... Bit nearer and Very good indeed
nelly231 Posted October 8, 2008 Author Report Posted October 8, 2008 sounds like im spoilt for choice. do HT racing do mapping as well?
kevmk2 Posted October 9, 2008 Report Posted October 9, 2008 I would say HT's or Sanspeed, two of my mates have had bad dealings with Track and road in the past
Contract Man Posted October 10, 2008 Report Posted October 10, 2008 HT racing have recently set themselves up with a rolling road. At the back of Brands hatch Need to check they have their software ready for the print outs, I have been down there on a couple of Saturdays. TBH if you have Aaron from HT and Steve from Vulcan pointing things in your engine you know you are in safe hands????
Darran Posted October 10, 2008 Report Posted October 10, 2008 I would say HT's or Sanspeed, two of my mates have had bad dealings with Track and road in the past Have to agree, most people only go to road and track once.....
dannyb Posted October 10, 2008 Report Posted October 10, 2008 sounds like im spoilt for choice. do HT racing do mapping as well? have a look on there web site, dynoit.co.uk there might be the info your looking for.
Retromotorsport Posted October 11, 2008 Report Posted October 11, 2008 I would say HT's or Sanspeed, two of my mates have had bad dealings with Track and road in the past Have to agree, most people only go to road and track once..... Except the countless Oval track racers that have been using them for years, and the owner of a few F1 cars including Sennas turbo car, also the owner of the Group C Jaguar that got FTD at Goodward. Then you have Mosler Cars , and Land Rover, and Ford, and Vauxhall and some of the top tuners in the country HT, ARE, Roush, Vulcan, and some of the top competitors in the country .... Mick Storrar who takes his 1600cc 105e out and beats top class WRC on the Isle of Mull every year., Steve Boughton of SBD who wins hillclimbs up and down the country... etc etc have a litle look http://www.tracknroad.com/ Jag on rollers http://www.tatdyno.com/dyno_movies/Jaguar_XJR12_028.mpg

Sure there good but strange guys to deal with.
Retromotorsport Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 But Darran, your not paying them to smile .... Steve P has been there .. done that, go into his place with the " i know best" attitude and he'll take you with a pinch of salt till you've proved yourself ... hes honest. Steve G , ex Hart, built engines for Boreham, one of the best around a Lotus 907-912 engine, one of the best around a BD and countless other lumps. honest and is the yin to Steve G's yan ... if you want a rose tinted view of an engine, dont go to T&R ..if you want the truth, then go there, But at the end of the day, as long as you going in and get a figure, and come out with a better figure (and not just bhp, your looking for a bigger lump under the curve) then thats fine.. pick a rolling road, and stick to it, build a relationship with the operators and you'll be fine.
mk1ian Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 if you want to be treated/spoken to like a decent human being go to sanspeed or HT's. if you wanted be treated/spoken to like shite then go to track and road. peter at sanspeed is a top guy and very friendly so are the guys at HT's
MK2Ed Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 pick a rolling road, and stick to it, build a relationship with the operators and you'll be fine. Pick proximity & reason I go Northampton Motorsport 12 yrs...
Slammed Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 i will vouch for track and road, because one of the steves used to work for burtons years ago, hekniows a lot and so does the other steve! i will always go there as they seem great! there southerners and get along with southerners sanspeed on the other hand where do i start, i would start but people on here wont like what i would say... so i aint saying nuffin rant over.. track and road is the best if you get to know them
kevmk2 Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 Well two of my mates went there and one of their engines blew up after one of the Steves revved the granny out of it, it went well past the limit that the engine was intended to go to. And the other guy Danny didnt even set foot in the door after speaking to them, as their attitude stunk.
Girl Racer Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 I went to HT racing yesterday to get mine set up and was very pleased. I came out with 160 at the flywheel and got a print out too, very impressed.
dannyb Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 sanspeed on the other hand where do i start, i would start but people on here wont like what i would say... so i aint saying nuffin i have lived in bexleyheath for most of my 32 years and sanspeed have a bad reputation.
