Guest chriscapriman Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 allegro , i wud have been brought home from the hospital in march 1981 in it, only it broke down enroute to the hospital , and my grandads week old mk1 fezza came to the rescue and took me, my mum and dad home insted ( and eventually became my first car in 1995-it stayed in the fambo tll 1999), although my dad rates his T reg marina (he got it 2 weeks after i was born after selling the allegro) or his 1994 rs2000 mk5 escy as the worst cars he ever owned, he proper hatred the rs2000 cos he had a mk2 rs2000 and got the new one thinkin it was a re-incarnation of the original , how wrong he was , kept only 6 months and px'd for a mondy estate
Fast eddie Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 my old man had a lovley hilman hunter wich he px,d for a allegro estate, i walked everywhere!!!!
marky4 Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 my dad's had some great cars in the past but the worst one's had to be maxi, marina montego 3 sh#t british leyland cars
jamesg Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 My dad didnt start driving till i was 10 but i was to young to say "dont buy that, its sh*t!" when he bough a Daihutsu Charade.......... Then he bought a Proton Aeroback................ Then thank fook he got promotion and got given compay cars, so he ended up having about X2 mk6 escort estates and about X5 focus estates over the last few years. He changed his job last year so had to buy his own again, steered him behind the wheel of a blue oval. A Focus C-Max. God knows where i got my love of cars from?!?
Mr.Sumo Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 i reckon i"ve been lucky compared to some of you lot My Dad has had in the past : Allegro....say no more Austin Princess 1.7HL...utter crap Morris Marina....the bloody thing stood on its nose , could never get the rear end to sit level Oh , and the Morris Ital....that replaced the Marina and they where all company cars ! dannyb Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 i cant recall my parents owning a $hit car, the volvo was a bit anoying due to the leather trim and i used to slide off of the seats. my dad has owned some wicked cars in the past and not long just sold his RS3100. and my mum has a 3.0 Z3.
jimbo Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 Well my dad had a couple of these One in the fetching maroon colour you see above, then a white one...... Having still not learnt a lesson he bought one of these...... Meanwhile mum had: then one of these both in green.........She now maintains that green cars are unlucky. No mum, it's just sh!t cars that are unlucky Finally my dad admitted that BMC cars weren't worth the effort, so...... It's sad to think that a man that started his driving career in a Silver Ghost, end it in a Renault 19!
Kelvfoozinda Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 My parents had.. 1978 1.1 Fiesta in blue when i was born (1988) 1983 1.6 Cavalier in cat sick green which snapped a cam chain, was bodged together then chopped in for this... 1988 2.0 Sierra GLS twinky which lasted ages (Background). This got burnt after we stored it at a dusty near us and a bloke decided to burn through some stuff without a non-return valve on his bottle and took out the whole yard at the back, everyone elses cars too. My dad also had 1978 Escy mk2 RS2000, beige. Till about 5Yrs ago. Its just gone unlisenced, be nice if anyone knew it. My dad might also buy it off you! 1988 Alfa Romeo 147 3.0V6 with electrics, leather etc. Then they got a shiney new (well a year old) 1999 Pug 306 2.0HDI, woooo. And my dad bought a van shortly after 1998 Toyota Hilux! With a dash filled with dust. Still got the pug, but my dad has a citroen dispatch now and a hoard of motorbikes since he sold the RS2000. Unfortunately has a dodgey elbow now but might sell the bikes and go back to fords!
escortmad79 Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 A lime green Skoda Estelle!! Amongst the others included a lada, a Datsun Sunny 140y which was so rusty it had duck tape across the front edge of the bonnet & a mustard yellow mk1 opel kadett estate!
