shorting through the post and have found a lovly letter from the council

saying that from the 1st of december windsor housing has given permission for the DVLA, NCP services contractors to enter onto windsor housing land and remove ANY vechicle not displaying a vaild tax disc.

 

windsor housing WILL NOT allow SORN declared vechicles to be parked on its land. if your vechicle has been declared as SORN it is still liable for removal.

 

so have got to get the 100e done asap

no idea got the letter today it says in big underline letters that they are alound to come on to there land day or night throught the year

nope you cant its goverment legislation that any car parked on a highway that is sorn it shall be removed after 4 hrs justation period where it is left with bloody great orange stickers that say untaxed vehicle , mcallisters in frimley surrey are the collection contracters and deane wood export in aldershot are the crushers , if the vehicle is in the compound after 14 days you get the privilidge of paying £240 for storage and £120 for transort and destruction

 

been happening in aldershot for about 6 mths regularly where i live and they lift anything not just old motors but new ones too , they also have a tax disc cctv van which has 16 cameras that detect the car reg and check to see if its taxed as they drive past it , they can drive past 16 cars at once a within a minute they will no which ones dont have tax!!!!

it is in my frount garden there on about. now not the road know that one had to move the victor last year of the road for a month due to tax and mot running out. now i am not alound to park them on the hardstanding

Put some numbers on the door, if it's a race car and it on land you legally rent or own I'm sure it cant be impounded, if you rent check your deeds. Maybe worth giving Dean or Gav at DWE a ring, they will know.

That may be true me old fruit , but if the vehicle is completely covered up , as in a car cover , and is NOT displaying the number plates or any part of the vehicle that shows any form of the registration number they CANNOT tell if the car has a Tax disc  or  what car it is  . They also have no power whatsoever to remove / move /adjust the said car cover to see if it is Taxed or to look at the registration number  . That is a fact .I personnally would take legal advice on whether they can come on to your property without your consent , irrespective as to what that letter says . You pay the rent .... coming onto or entering your land without your consent would be at the least classed as Trespassing.....

That's a very good point, and what if you take the number plates off? Take the plates off and cover it up. They might have a mumble about keeping scrap on the land, but that's not what they are telling you they will remove.

I blame the price of scrap. If it was like back in the old days, when you had to pay to get rid of a car, nobody would be tendering to drag em away.
