but would a 185 over a 7j not catch like mad? forgive my ignornace im used to only having to find two matching soft compounds tires :oops:

depends on the wheel and how low the car is, if superlights yes, my Ml'S rubbed slightly on drivers side rear arch if cornering hard but took 3 years (8k miles) to start rubbing writing of side wall, but what ever wheel the arches need to be rolled :thumbsup:

not been very educated when it comes to tyre sizes and choices , what would be acceptable on my 5jx13 rostyles? at mo ive got 185/70x13's on but they look far too skinny and high, what would make them look chunkier ? would 185/60x13's look any better? and would they be safe?

i need some new tyres but really dont want to stay on these skinny 185/70's..

185/60s will screw up your motorway cruisin ability mate, i made that mistake last year. gives you a little more away from the lights tho so is personal preferance. i had 205/60s on my laser 6j wheels, they were best all round (til i got my 15's) but dont think they will fit on the 5j's :?

holty, just get some fekin tyres will ya  (not stretched tho, they look gay, like a vw owner  ) , wanna see the scort on 15's asap

revin at over 3250 when doin 70, rollin diameter smaller means more rpm to cover the same distance

now i just totally confused lol, bring back the good old days when no-one knew or cared about wheels an tyres .

smaller profile tyre will icnrease road noise slightly, make the car a tiny bit rougher and it will rev more at higher speeds...think of it like this:

my wheel with a 185/60 will have to turn further to go the same distance as your wheel with a 185/70 as its bigger

other way, a bigger wheel diameter turns less, 185/70's will need fewer rpm @ 70mph than 185/60's as the overall gearing is higher

my capper on 185/60s and then the 15's below, the overall diameter of the tyre and wheel is larger on the 15's so cruises at lower rpm
