badchild Posted November 9, 2008 Report Posted November 9, 2008 Agreed Might sound stupid but what if everyone on here sent an email to ebay, surely they would listen to emails en masse? Is it any wonder there are so many going missing with things like this???
andy a Posted November 10, 2008 Report Posted November 10, 2008 If you report the auctions to Ebay they do remove them. Also its not unknown for the DVLA to have a flick through Ebay and other sites and take note of V5's for sale, the details are then entered on their database and they sit back and wait for the car to reappear on the VOSA system when it rolls in for mot.

Fiesta Steve Posted November 10, 2008 Report Posted November 10, 2008 nout wrong with it IMHO But people can use the ID's to ring cars, you think there's nothing wrong with that ??
Wessie Posted November 10, 2008 Report Posted November 10, 2008 nout wrong with it IMHO But people can use the ID's to ring cars, you think there's nothing wrong with that ?? the amount of rally shells that some people go through, but are still on the same ID as the original car is crazy ! cars need to be kept on the road somehow ! but using the ID's for illegal purposes like motoring offences (speeding, parking ticketss etc) is wrong

Not when its just been taken off someones drive !!

antz Posted November 10, 2008 Report Posted November 10, 2008 but surely itll come with a bottom spec id that goes with that car?
Wessie Posted November 10, 2008 Report Posted November 10, 2008 but surely itll come with a bottom spec id that goes with that car? yeh, keep the ID for a rainyday ! by the time your cut all the tunnel, linking boxes etc out, change the engine, bix axle, suspension, arch it cage it its not the same car anyway, just swap the rallycar ID onto the shell. it happens everywhere

Wessie Posted November 10, 2008 Report Posted November 10, 2008 im not going to argue anymore, it happens, you'll never stop it happening

escort greg Posted November 10, 2008 Report Posted November 10, 2008 Every time i see them i report them and some do get taken off ebay
Rick Posted November 10, 2008 Report Posted November 10, 2008 dont see a problem with keeping a car alive but shouldnt be advertised on ebay, just through clubs
Yeomans22 Posted November 10, 2008 Author Report Posted November 10, 2008 the bare shells that are on ebay are just as bad, as there ids are now on another car, and the scrap shell is all is left, 3 of them log books are for top end escort mexico rs2000, each one of them put on a decent car, the car will sell for £5000 and upwards, while people can get away with it they will, if the shell isn't left then neither should the log book.
JAY PS Posted November 10, 2008 Report Posted November 10, 2008 Can believe ebay let this go on ,this is what is giving ebay a bad name . I noticed one has been pulled ,reported the rest . Its our duty to police ebay and why ? So scum dont nick our cars use crap ids to pass them off as real cars . Ebay really dont have a clue or is it they dont care !
Yeomans22 Posted November 10, 2008 Author Report Posted November 10, 2008 mk2 mex is removed, i have just reported the rest only takes a few mins, when u report them there is a drop down about, sellers selling log books, so they know its going on.
michael11 Posted November 10, 2008 Report Posted November 10, 2008 Surely if you got the chance of a shell or car with no id you'ld take the option of adopting one from a car that had been scrapped rather than have to have engineers report done, or risk getting a Q plate (if they still exist) which would devalue your car, granted people shouldn't claim a car to be something it isn't ie rs a standard shell, but it's only an id at the end of the day it won't be long before cars won't be issued with replacement id's to get older cars of the road in which case good shells or years of work may never make it to the road. ps may have an estate logbook and plate if anyone needs! one to get their much loved project on the road.
