Mick The Cabbie Posted November 23, 2008 Report Posted November 23, 2008 .. you would go to all the trouble of doing this?? I know it's been covered before but I just don't get it. It's only 100e's that seem to get converted too, I'm not critisizing the mans car, I just don't get it.. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... :IT&ih=012 I'm gonna mssg him to ask what are the benefits of such a conversion

Mick The Cabbie Posted November 23, 2008 Author Report Posted November 23, 2008 i agree WTF?!??!?! the only way that i could see sence in it is if theres another it the boot other than that its silly Yeah, that'd be good! Thing is, it looks like a very nicely built car. WHY WHY WHY!!! I've just sent him a mssg to see what his opinions are.
jay Posted November 23, 2008 Report Posted November 23, 2008 tbh my view is that its and xr2 with a fancy coat on.. itll handle like a xr.and you'll get ubar cool styling.. plus some strange people just arnt into rwd...
D4N Posted November 23, 2008 Report Posted November 23, 2008 people like diffrent things i supose. not my cup of tea but you know.. Nice car though
pauln Posted November 23, 2008 Report Posted November 23, 2008 I like it. Nothing wrong with fwd. Don't like the modern dash though.
lotusless Posted November 23, 2008 Report Posted November 23, 2008 it is different though but i didn't say i like it before you all start
D4N Posted November 23, 2008 Report Posted November 23, 2008 plus some strange people just arnt into rwd... Yeh and you get some people that just cant drive them. Speaking to some one yesterday said he is building a rwd astra with aload of power but cant drive rwd cars. Says he has nearly crashed so many.. Bigest character of a OSF is the RWD IMO Along with loads of other things
zetecmk2 Posted November 23, 2008 Report Posted November 23, 2008 HMMMM.........good time to fwd kooltina???................
pauln Posted November 23, 2008 Report Posted November 23, 2008 HMMMM.........good time to fwd kooltina???................ Mondy front end (and rear beam)?? Need to butter up your new manager though. Sabre saw on standby . Or.........how about mondy 4wd running gear .
X FLOW EDDY Posted November 23, 2008 Report Posted November 23, 2008 Nice car, put a lot of good work into it......... not my cup of tea though.
Fiesta Steve Posted November 23, 2008 Report Posted November 23, 2008 At the end of the day there are people on this site who can't get there car sideways due to lack of ability, there are some who can't get it sideways due to lack of power and there are some who don't get it sideways just because they are law abiding citizens who aren't holigans. So if your not going to be getting it sideways at every bend then what does it matter if they are front or RWD ?? Personally, I am a holigan and am coverting front to RWD

PIG Posted November 23, 2008 Report Posted November 23, 2008 the car has been done well, different.not my bag but fair play to the fella
Nettles Posted November 23, 2008 Report Posted November 23, 2008 It's not my cup of tea either but I can understand why some people choose the FWD option. When we brought Mrs Nettles 100e we did look at the FWD option for her project because she was intending to use the car as her daily drive I had to make sure that it was reliable and safe for her to use. She hadn’t had much experience with RWD so FWD seemed to be the best bet. One of the best points from the FWD conversion was that I could then run the exhaust system though the old prop-shaft tunnel and slam the fook out of the ride height. However in the end I managed to get hold of a very cheap 2.0L DOHC lump from a late Sierra that she decided she wanted but we sold the car on before the work started.
Joe Little Posted November 23, 2008 Report Posted November 23, 2008 What is the point of this post????? People build cars how they want them, Dont they?????
Mick The Cabbie Posted November 23, 2008 Author Report Posted November 23, 2008 What is the point of this post????? People build cars how they want them, Dont they????? The point of this thread is to discuss the pro's and con's of such a conversion, just as many similar threads on here do. This car cought my attention simply because I am aware of quite a few 100E's which have been converted to FWD. I just wondered what the merits of such a conversion may be. It seems that no other RWD fords get converted from RWD to FWD. Just something to discuss in a constructive manner, nothing more. And yes people do build their cars how thay want them which is why the world of OSFs is so diverse. A good thing I think.
Mick The Cabbie Posted November 23, 2008 Author Report Posted November 23, 2008 The guy just replied. He bought the car already converted to FWD but it had a CVH lump fitted. He did agree that it was a fair question though.
hellblue Posted November 23, 2008 Report Posted November 23, 2008 Not for me,..... why build it like that .... well why not ??? when we start a build we know what we want it to be like when its done & other than the track being to wide for the body it turned out well it works in a small engine bay, but with 90% of the engine & box in front of the axle its not a good move (i know thats how it was in the first place) as said put another one in the back ..... Go on Glen you know you want to, 2x2 cortina lol & you cant win if you cut the bulkhead to set the engine back everyone wants to know why you cut it !!!!
Mrs O/H/C Posted November 23, 2008 Report Posted November 23, 2008 thinking outside the box At least it makes the world go round.. people having different ideas. P.s Not my cup of tea either
TwoLitrePinto Posted November 23, 2008 Report Posted November 23, 2008 rwd all the way for me, but its still nice...
bmxdave Posted November 23, 2008 Report Posted November 23, 2008 It needs a Turbo CVH. And another in the back too. Easy 400bhp. Im in the hooligan party, i do miss the skids but i like the predictability of the FWD. Perfect answer is one of each, or better still, two engines, you can have it anyway you want then
garyv6100e Posted November 24, 2008 Report Posted November 24, 2008 This car has had the whole inner front end structure of a MK2 fiesta grafted on to the 100e bulk head and chasis . has been well done but RWD all the way for me
