YOUNGY Posted November 25, 2008 Report Posted November 25, 2008 not a bad motor and as you say - practical, what scooby did you have? are we allowed to admit to owning a scooby?
Daggle Posted November 25, 2008 Report Posted November 25, 2008 I have one for my daily driver, I have owned it for nearly 4 years and its bloomin fantastic, still brings a smile to my face (lift off oversteer ) Don't worry about the faults issue, I haven't had any major issues with mine, apart from one. Watch out for potholes, the cat on the ST hasn't got a lot of clearance, i ran down a pot hole and ground out, this bent the cat and snapped one of the sensors, I got it repaired by the local RS dept, and it was nigh on £1000 , needless to say im really wary about speedbumps and potholes now. There is another butterfly valve that can stick on the inlet side but Ford are aware of this issue and should sort it out FOC. Also if you have the 6006 6 disc multiplayer then that can go up the shoot, again Ford are aware of the issues with this and can repair it, my advice is to only put 5 CD's in it, then it dosen't appear to strain the motor. Believe me though Jo, I love my ST, the only reason I am thinkin of selling it is coz the kids are getting bigger and I need more room, so am looking at a ST Mondeo next
