The last 3 days in hospital :(

Last Saturday Dave (Oldbus on here) popped over for the weekend and paid me a visit to pick up some wheels I had stored for him and just have a general good crack.

After only being at my work for an hour or so I get a call from the missus telling me that our youngest has got a lump just under his chin, and I could tell just by her voice that she was very worried.

So I made my apologies to Dave, locked the factory up and shot off home (will make it up to you next time your over Dave, or I'm over there mate  )

Gets home and the lump is the size of a small grape and the lad's not his usual bubbly self, the lump might not seem to big but he is only 3.

Rang the emergency Dr and got an appointment straight away, after he examined Ethan he said that he was sending us straight to the hospital for tests

Obviously by this point me and the wife are absolutely shitting it, I dont mind telling you.

Once at the hospital, they pretty much got him examined and admitted and on the antibiotics, the Docs suspected it was the lymph node gland that we all have and generally protects us from infections and such, had become infected.

By Sunday the lump had turned an angry red and was massive under his chin, and he was very poorly, just sleeping and crying and generally whinging. I stayed with him as my missus is not the best sleeper anyway and the wards are always noisy at night.

We had the lump scanned and then examined by the Ear, Nose & Throat Dept on monday and they (thankfully) confirmed that it was indeed only the lymph node and not anything more sinister and then by Tuesday the biotics that he was being fed intravenously started to work and he was feeling a lot better in himself and is now home. The lump is still there and he's got to go back on the 12th for another examination. It seems that the lump will either reduce in size but will always be there (although you can't see it) or it will turn to mush and then have to be surgically removed.

Can't tell you all just how worried we have all been over the last few days, you can't help but think the worse, especially when a "lump" is found. Glad my little man is better now and back to driving me mad

The staff at the hospital were all amazing, nothing was too much trouble for them, as an adult it was the closest Ive been to experiencing the NHS system and although all we ever seem to hear is the negative about it, its a brilliant system, not perfect by any means but I have nothing but the highest praise and gratitude to all the staff at my local hospital

 glad to hear the lad and the rest of you's is ok.. the NHS seem to get a bad rep cos all you ever here is bad press.. but that stuff isn't frequent, if the daily papers published all the good stuff, our daily papaers would come in volums!
