Pipster007 Posted December 6, 2008 Report Posted December 6, 2008 I had a bit of a strange one the other day. I rang the insurers to add my sister onto my policy for the Golf, and they said that's no problem..........I can have a £53.70 refund. So how does that work? My premium was £365ish, and now when I add my sister, it drops to £310ish Still, thats £53 quids worth of booze to drink at the OSF Xmas bash
bigglesmk2 Posted December 6, 2008 Report Posted December 6, 2008 If she's older and had more driving experience When my missus passed her test and added me to her insurance it was cheaper for her .
Pipster007 Posted December 6, 2008 Author Report Posted December 6, 2008 Nope. I'm older. I'm 39, she's 36. I passed my test in 1987 and she in 1989. I just found found it to be strange that my insurance came down as soon as I added her to it
oddball Posted December 6, 2008 Report Posted December 6, 2008 because its a lady driver and we are better drivers FACT therefore as your sister will be using your car its calculated at a percentage that you will be driving the car less therefore you get a refund
bigglesmk2 Posted December 6, 2008 Report Posted December 6, 2008 because its a lady driver and we are better drivers FACT therefore as your sister will be using your car its calculated at a percentage that you will be driving the car less therefore you get a refund Ok...but when the fella is'nt using the car the lady will be using it hence the car doing more mile's and spending more time on the road and more chance of a bump ?
countrybumpkin Posted December 6, 2008 Report Posted December 6, 2008 well you'd of thought it would be more but i added my freind to my escort insurance and she's on 4 months older than me and that knocked about £20 off of the cost, it must just be beacuse they are considered safer drivers as if i'm honest (oh i'm going to die for saying this) i feel safer being a passanger with a lady driver they dont tend to do stupid things

NginEEr Posted December 6, 2008 Report Posted December 6, 2008 i wouldnt say tht my ex was terrible.it takes alot to scare me in a car but on roundabout she went at a snails pace into moving traffic i once grabbed the wheel so shed miss an R8 that and she never payed attention much and sped more than anything else on the way top the mcrae stages she got flashed twice madness
mk3cokebottle Posted December 6, 2008 Report Posted December 6, 2008 i added my missus to my traders policy cos it knocked off £80 pure qaulity
Fiesta Steve Posted December 7, 2008 Report Posted December 7, 2008 My other half is on both my insurances as its always cheaper. Why ?, I don't know but it is. So if you haven't got a female on your policy, get one !!
