Jiffer Posted December 7, 2008 Report Posted December 7, 2008 the 1st is whoever said cider dont give you a hangover is a bloody liar, the 2nd whoever designed mk 1 cortina calipers is a sadist, 1 1/2 hours i spent trying to get the dust seals in and eventualy lauched it across the workshop in a fit of rage and humiliation. after all that and about 2 gallons of brake fluid i still have shite front brakes. i hear a capri front struts will bolt on, if this is true can someone help out here and tell me of what model and if i need any additional parts, mine is a 66 mk1 cortina 1500gt cos quite frankley this is getting rite on my thrupny bits. many thanks.
V8ian Posted December 7, 2008 Report Posted December 7, 2008 Nope, Capri struts will not bolt on, not without extensive mods, what calipers do you have,P16s or P14s,
Mr Sam Posted December 7, 2008 Report Posted December 7, 2008 cider doesnt give me a hang over just wake up still pissed
Chud Posted December 7, 2008 Report Posted December 7, 2008 Hiyah mate,i've had the same prob's with the P16 caliper's on my 66 GT,eventually i was given another new set of pistons as mine were a little scored and i bought some overhaul kits from a brake specialist near to me which got them sorted.Burton's are still selling them new in their catalogue, made by a company called AMK i think, hope this helps Jiffer
john_3.0s Posted December 8, 2008 Report Posted December 8, 2008 whats the prob with them? i have done the seals on lots of m16s and they are a piece of p!ss. just need an airline to blow the pistons out, a little scotch brite to clean them up and some brake fluid for re-assembly never had a problem
caprinerd Posted December 8, 2008 Report Posted December 8, 2008 cider gave me major head ache the morning after took about 8 hours to venture out of the front door, deadly stuff
