Retro-gone. Posted December 7, 2008 Report Posted December 7, 2008 ive got all my old 70's custom car mags and still enjoy them
Grey Crayford Posted December 7, 2008 Report Posted December 7, 2008 Loving the subtle mods on the old street machine feature cars Still got almost every edition though!!
john_3.0s Posted December 8, 2008 Report Posted December 8, 2008 is that a triumph PI grill? must have been some major fab work to build it - fair play! (looks bl00dy awful IMHO!!)
DAZZA Posted December 8, 2008 Author Report Posted December 8, 2008 Yes, deffo a triumph front end. The fashion was always to graft the most offkey grill in....... regardless of size.
FredTransit Posted December 8, 2008 Report Posted December 8, 2008 I have got a couple of hundred old street machine mags, really must get round to selling them, cos they are far too good to just chuck in the recycling.
Ken B Posted December 8, 2008 Report Posted December 8, 2008 + its an x reg Before the days of Q plates. It was must have been registered as a hybrid/newly built motor.
caprinerd Posted December 8, 2008 Report Posted December 8, 2008 study the pic carefully and imagine it dropped down and do away with the side pipes and the body kit wouldnt be far off what the boy racers have these days, but saying that, they invented the body kit didnt they ( or so they think)
brettp Posted December 8, 2008 Report Posted December 8, 2008 street machine was the best mag ever that must have been real old one i did here a roomer it was coming back any one know anything ?
ASBO CAPRI Posted December 8, 2008 Report Posted December 8, 2008 Yep loved street machine. It inspired me to v8 my capri. It went down hill when they changed the name to american car world as they couldn't included all the home grown street machines in it. I picked up a copy of custom car the other day. It had half the amount of pages in it compared to when I bought the mag and it was £3.70
brettp Posted December 8, 2008 Report Posted December 8, 2008 there has not really been a replacement for street machine i suppose the nearest thing is ppc (good mag) custom car is a bit to geared towards t buckets etc but for brit tin with v8 s its a bit crap at the moment still there can not be many more cossie escorts left un featured so just buy default there must be some v8s in rf and cf soon and now one of the cf staff a v8 powered old ford perhaps things may change i am pretty sure he was involved with street machine a while back fingers crossed
