pccapri Posted December 15, 2008 Report Posted December 15, 2008 hi all, im after some fibre glass panels for my mk3 capri, i would prefer a company that i can send the panels off to and they make the moulds from that. as i hear they are better? or has somebody had a good experience with a fibreglass company? also has anyone dealt with any carbon fibre body part companies? many thanks. gaz
60ftman Posted December 15, 2008 Report Posted December 15, 2008 Try Honeybourne Mouldings. Been around for years and produce very good fibreglass panels at really cheap prices. http://www.honeybournemouldings.co.uk/price-frontwings.htm
tarmacghost Posted December 15, 2008 Report Posted December 15, 2008 getting someone to make a mould of your panel wouyld more than double the price i would think as they are going to have to do everything twice and then some scottie
petrolhead01 Posted December 15, 2008 Report Posted December 15, 2008 OLD FORD AUTOS, THERE THE BEST !! there a sponsor of the site too so discounts available,,
dyt397c Posted December 16, 2008 Report Posted December 16, 2008 moulds normally cost 3 times the price of a panel cos of the extra thickness. personally i wouldnt use Honeybourne Mouldings(wont say why on here but i wouldnt use them!!) Ive been in the fibreglass trade for 17 years + and i`d say that other than me , Old Ford Auto`s are the best!! i bought a boot and doors for my Anglia and i couldnt fault them mate

SAF_Capri Posted December 17, 2008 Report Posted December 17, 2008 how can you stop the bonnet flexing? thinking of fitting one on my cappa but hear horror stories
petrolhead01 Posted December 17, 2008 Report Posted December 17, 2008 how can you stop the bonnet flexing? thinking of fitting one on my cappa but hear horror stories it depends if you are fitting a fibreglass skin or a complete bonnet, the best way is to use some wood i have used broom handles in the past and create an x that spans the bonnet on the inside then just fibreglass this to the origonal panel using resin and fibreglass sheets if you take your time this can look really cool as well!!
LEONMEX Posted December 17, 2008 Report Posted December 17, 2008 Defo old ford autos as smith & deakin panels ive tried to fit don't fit.
