I'm self employed and It hasn't affected me yet as most of our work has been in the pipeline since the summer, but I'm sure it's going to hit me soon :|

The thing that's done me up this year is not having much over Christmas. Not even sure if there is anything coming in Jan either. I reckon I'll have to go back to a 'normal' job if it gets bad :(

As for the Escort - No fookin chance, I'm struggling to pay the bills so that's deffo on the back burner ;)

if jan is bad for me then i wil be looking for a job on the cards to and some people think that cab drivers work stuped hours cos of greed i wish them days have gone

Also self employed .................. worse i've ever been.

Been thinking of looking for a "proper" job but most people around here are being made redundant

I've been pottering with my cars between jobs but not knowing what money is coming in next i'm reluctant to spend too much on it.

The turds i work for still cant get engineers :lol::lol:

kinda tells you something really dont it..

We lost 4 good engineers after nasty men came a few months back and fitted surveylance devices to our vans (which is why i no longer use mine for private use anymore, im allowed to but theres no way them Apple Pies are gona know what i do in my private time).

But seriously, no one wants to work for my lot even now :lol::lol:

I am self employed fitting meters and 2 way radios in taxis and have been for ten years. The taxi trade in Dorset has dropped considerably therefore causing me to hold back with certain things. But i have been working in amates garage who keeps the cabs on the road. He is busy because drivers arent buying new cars just keeping old ones going a bit longer. January is always quiet for me so hoping I can survive as self employed. Orders from others dont bode well in my book!!! On the plus side the cortina is going in his workshop for a couple of weeks :D

When we used to work with the West One Cab company, January was always called the kipper season, something to do with the drivers just sitting about smoking  !
