oh maybe you think im havin it restored for myself? just to clarify, ive sold it to a car restorer who has a customer waiting for this particular model capri, its gonna be brought back to concours condition with the exeption of daytona yellow paintwork , hes gonna keep me updated with pics so il post them as i get them, im really chuffed its gettin resto'd, im gonna write to the original owner and let him know.

he wont come on the forum cos someone ripped his company to bits,

he said when a customer gives him a budget he does his best with that money, if that means skipping on chroming or something he informs the customer, apparently this particular customer wasnt happy with the end result yet wouldnt spend anymore money so he dissed his company.

That customer was me. I think we all know the story behind my Escort, it took a couple of months and the involvement of Trading Standards to get my money back (I still had to foot the bill for the bodywork carried out by a proper specialist!!!!). It has however, left me quite emotionally scarred to the point where I just cannot trust any classic car I see in the classifieds. So much so that I'll probably never own another classic Ford again

sorry to hear that mate, mustve been really traumatic for you, just to clarify though i met the guy once when he came to collect the car he bought from me, im not in contact in any way with him in any shape or form.
